  1. Hello fellow modelmakers! ...I hope you are spending a great Christmas days! Here, my last project finished. The Class 214 submarine, in 1/144 scale (Revell). This was an interesting model. I like submarines, and this models offers a good size and quite detail. I've tried to represent it, as realistic as I can. I decided to show the model with all the hatches closed, and not all the periscopes displayed. This provided a little extra work, sice the Revell kit is intended to offer all instruments closed or all displayed. Neither I put any of the possibles flags (...Korea, Greece or Portugal), because my intention was to show the sub in a state of previous emersion to surface. Here, the real thing: And here, the pics of my model: Below, detail of the non-slippering surface, depicted in a daker color: I hope you like it, and thanks for watching. Your comments are welcome!! And more pics in the WIP section: Cheers, Josep
  2. Ssshh! Don't ell anyone I've snuck into the big boys playground Following in the large footsteps of @Gisbod https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235070094-revell-1144-flower-class-corvette-pontos-photo-update/ and @robgizlu https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235005424-revell-flower-class-corvette-1144/ OK secrets out, I'm going to attempt the Revell Corvette plus Pontos set in the N Atlantic with fairly heavy weathering So were looking at with Started the base using two sheets of Celutex and despite precautions it bent like a banana. Cuts and weights later it will do for a practise run..... All that and I still feel the need...... The front right hand corner is going to look a bit bare so I thought a swamped lifeboat will look good Sanding sealer when heated forms an adhesive Mk1 and I've even done some PE A part of my addled brain said it would be nice to do a kit for a change. Doh! There are probably 20 bits of plastic used from the kit, what was I thinking ?? Well I may have very little experience with PE but if when I get to the end ....... This could be the start of a long voyage Stay safe Kev
  3. Here goes nothing. I had the decals, MASP, and someone years ago donated the V2500 engines so I picked up a Revell Air Berlin kit cheap. I wished I had gone with the Zvezda but I will work through this. It has plenty of flash and a wonky looking APU exhaust at the tip of the fuselage below the tail. I also converted the box to a " flip top" configuration.---John
  4. Canadair CC144 412 Sqn, Canadian Forces, 2008 This is the Revell 1/144 Bombadier Challenger CL601/604 kit with CanMilAir decals. A very neat little kit (very little in 1/144) of an attractive aircraft. The kit decal sheet is actually very good, giving German, Danish and Australian markings as well as useful stencils, etc : However, having seen an original (144615) at the 2008 Northolt Photocall, and being very impressed with it's clean and smart appearance, this is the one I was going for : The CanMilAir decal sheet gave 144618 so I checked on line just to make sure it was in the same finish as I was aware that some CC144s are in gloss grey and some in gloss black Can Mil Air decals are unfortunately no longer available – a shame because there were all kinds of rare (and common) Canadian subjects covered. I was hoping to get a set for my Hobbycraft Avro Arrow but was too late! Anyway, here are the other photos of the model:
  5. While working on the base for the X-Craft started on this the other night at the model club Very quick build and even quicker to paint ready for the Decals now and then it will be going into some water to try out something new beefy
  6. This is my entry for KUTA VIII, four 1/144 Tornado's one from each of the countries that operate them. They were started for Merv's memorial GB and whilst a couple were close I failed to complete them by the date. I know that the GB remains open ended to allow further updates, but I want to get them finished off and this will hopefully give me the drive to do that. Two of the entries may be considered a little to advanced and if that is the case then I will gladly refrain from updating those, but here goes. First up is Dragons 1/144 F.3. This is the most advanced of the builds and needs the undercarriage doors and pylons adding, plus some paint touch up before a final varnish. The second model is Revells 1/144 Luftwaffe ECR and this needs tail planes, weapons, undercarriage doors and again a varnish coat Third is an Italian ECR and needs a lot more work than the other two and finally the model that is furthest behind is this, a 1/144 RSAF IDS
