Max Factory is producing a 1/12th (!!!!) scale Tiger I. It is not inexpensive and also begging the question, โwhen is โbigโ too big?โ Also, the nice thing about 1/12th scale is that the model dimensions are the same number of inches as the real dimensions are in feet. The kit is 27 3/4 inches long, 11.7 inches wide, and 9.8 inches high. https://www.hlj.com/1-12-scale-plamax-tiger-i-max01366?fbclid=IwAR27nj2NS4BESm2OyhapxyUMcSHCzHe8AyEt_ie1_m7M4Q2wt8FMDZ7nMh8_aem_Acu9zkbWzhWUcwNAavG4imxVCk9qt5rmp0lvhEjSLIxFTVt21AA-QDx7pJjjCohUVk4

I finished this awesome little bust from FeR Miniatures a little while back. It's one of my favorite sculpts from FeR and it was super fun to paint. Comments and criticism welcomed as always!

This is my first larger scale bust project. Prior to this, all of my figure painting had either been 1/35 scale or Warhammer figures. I'm an unapologetic George Washington fanboy and one of my favorite books is Ron Chernow's "Washington: A Life," so as soon as I found out this bust existed, I had to have it. The bust itself, from FeR Miniatures, looks to be a combination of Gilbert Stuart's "Lansdowne Portrait" (the clothing) and the more famous "Athenaeum Portrait" (the expression) and is pretty good overall. My only niggle is the eyes; I wish they were a little more open but it does more or less match Stuart's paintings. The skin is mostly acrylic work accented with oils with the hair being all oils over an acrylic base. The jacket and waistcoat is Tamiya acrylics accented with oils, and the undershirt is all acrylics. The plinthโunseenโis from Bases By Bill, a custom wooden base maker out of Michigan, USA. Comments and criticism is welcomed as always!

Hello friends! ๐ Been a while since I've been on here and even longer since I posted anything. You know, what with the virus thing and all... Anyhew, time to start up a bike build.. ๐ I bought this kit at Telford (ahh, the memories... ๐) a couple of years ago for a sensible price. I had grand plans to backdate it to a '77 machine and do it in Sheene' s colours. But it needs too much work for my skill level /time availability /patience.. It also turns out the decals are probably furchtbar. So I had a rethink and picked up some Studio 27 Mike Hailwood, 1979 TT decals (sheet covers Senior and Classic TT). The TT bike and the 1980 GP bike are quite different. Mainly : wheels should be 5 spoke not 3, seat unit is the wrong shape, exhaust repositioned, fairing slightly different shape (though it would pass IMO), and there were winglets on the fairing on the TT bike (as if that would catch on...... ๐ ๐). Too much work there too... ๐ค So what is this build!? Well, its a "what if". What if, in 1980, Suzuki decided to turn out their GP bike in a special, one-off tribute livery to Hailwood's last TT win? Like Yamaha have done recently with the speed blocks, the Fiat500 scheme, or various riders basing one-off schemes on their flag for their home gp round and so on. So, a 1980 Suzuki RGB500 in Hailwood's 1979 Senior TT winning colours. Just for fun! Here we go then. W-D

Looking into building a few MotoGP and WSBK bikes just wondering apart from Hiroboy and Spotmodel what are the best/easiest websites to pick them up. Keen on doing Leon Haslams Aprilia from WSBK if I can find the Transkit or a MotoGP Ducati perhaps. All in 1/12 scale.

BB-8 Resistance pilot Poe Dameron's loyal astromech droid Bandai 1/12 scale I started this year with a BB-8 and I finished this year with another one, albeit one as a commission instead of my personal collection! Like my previous one, this is a full paint job: the white is a custom off-white mix I've used in the past for X-wings, the orange is a mix of a couple Vallejo paints, and the metallic bits are Alclad Airframe Aluminum (ALC-119). All of the weathering was done with Mig enamels and oils. The base is a 3.5" wood cube that I spray painted satin black and I made a vinyl stencil for the "logo." Interestingly enough, I got the idea for the "logo" while I was standing in line at the craft store to buy the wood cube. My girls were looking at knick knacks they had on the shelves in the queue and my younger one found a neat little Star Wars coffee mug with BB-8 on it. She showed it to me and when I picked it up to look at it, it had this little logo on the one side (with a "BB" in the larger circle). I thought it would look cool on the base so I made a stencil of it when I got home! As always, comments and criticism is always appreciated.

R2-KT Bandai 1/12 Scale Bandai R2-KT, completed in Tamiya acrylics; Alclad lacquers; Mig & AK Interactive enamels; and Secret Weapon Miniatures pigments. For the first time ever, I decided not to paint the white and instead applied the enamel washes directly to the plastic. Coming from the BB-8/R2-D2 kit, I also noticed that this plastic is glossier than the plastic in the original release of this kit, which I found interesting. Since R2-KT is an Imperial droid, I gave her a base that resembled the Death Star hangar from the original Star Wars. If you haven't heard the story behind R2-KT, check out their website (but be prepared to have your heartstrings tugged!).
