  1. In 2020 Zvezda is to release a new variant of its 1/144th Tu-134 kit (link), a Tupolev Tu-134UBL "Crusty-B" - ref. 7036 Source: https://vk.com/zvezdamodels?w=wall-29859496_2488861 V.P.
  2. Slightly older completion but finally got around to some photography. Zvezda's 1/72 Su-33 out of the box... almost. I cut up the inboard leading edge slats and the horizontal stabilisers to pose them more realistically. I also opened up some holes not mentioned in the instructions and used the spare/optional pylons for the inboard wing stations. These are pretty unrealistic as they are rarely used due to take-off weight considerations, but I'll be damned if it doesn't look imposing with 12 missles hanging off it! This is my largest and most complex aircraft project to date, the dec
  3. Hey guys, here's my ISU. It was a fun kit to build, the instructions were just one sheet of paper. I replaced the plastic grilles with microdesign PE. The replacement tracks are trumpeters workable tracks and they go together quite nice. I think about making a vignette for this one with some angry Russians on top but that won't be anytime soon so I leave it here. Cheers, Ernst.
  4. Probably not what most people would expect under this title i dont't have a specific relationship to this aircraft, but to the airline and its country. One my good friends flew the last 737-200 in europe with for aviogenex and i m half yugoslav, so it was just a matter of time until the first yugos appear haha. It is the basic zvezda kit in 1/144 , which is quite ok, except for the missing flightdeck and clearpieces for lights. Still i found myself notching up the kit with smallstuff detail set, GA resin wheels and 26Decals. The build itself was more or less uneventfu
  5. This is my first serious model after my comeback to hobby after 7 years without models. Twenty years I built models of airplanes, and one time I decided to build ships. The model of battleship Sevastopol is built at the moment of the end of construction near Baltic shipyard wall at first two weeks of September 1914. As the main detail set, I used a North Star Models detail set for Sevastopol. In addition to him I used different etched and resin aftermarket detail sets: · Master 1/350 gun barrels set for Sevastopol-class battleships
  6. Old Zvezda model, but nothing is thrown at me but everything works. I'm satisfied with the work done, it looks nice in the showcase. Here's the picture.
  7. After the 1/48th kit (link), strong rumours say Zvezda is preparing a new tool 1/72nd Petlyakov Pe-2 kit - ref. 7283 Source: https://tieba.baidu.com/f?kw=模型类新闻&ie=utf-8 V.P.
  8. Hi everyone, long time no see. Somehow I'm back into assembling kits, due to a lockdown, of course. So, this time it is the Zvezda's triple seven, arguably their best kit in the Emirates livery by the Pas-decals (Actually three sets of decals because kit decal is way too poor). Well, the build was relatively straight and easy. Some known flaws that I'm still not capable to fix (droop wings for instance). Quite a few mistakes of mine.. All in all I've learned a lot from this build and quite happy with the result. Cheers, Steve
  9. Alas, wrong scale
  10. Here is my finished Zvezda Boeing 737-8MG(WL) in the Jet2Holidays livery with registration G-JZHK. I opted for this livery and registration as I flew on this particular aircraft back in 2017 and she was only about 4/5 months old at the time, you could still smell the newness. I’m also quite a fan of this livery, it’s effective and stands out just enough. It’s also identical to that of the American low cost carrier Allegiant and I tried to do some digging in to this. From what I gathered Jet2 leased 2 752s from Allegiant and they had just painted them, so Jet2 simply added th
  11. A brand new 1/48th Yakovlev Yak-3 is to be released by Zvezda. Sources and pics: http://www.facebook....26613179&type=3 http://scalemodels.r...1-48-jak-3.html V.P.
  12. After some weathering I consider this one finished, it was a joy to build and paint. You can find the "making of" in the WIP section right here. Cheers, Ernst
  13. Hello, I bought this kit some time ago for cheap. It's basically a rebranded Dragon Kit from the early nineties together with zvezda's t-72 offerings. There are several kit reviews online available through scalemates but long story short: it's inaccurate and rather course. Do I mind? Not at all. This is typically a kit you can buy for cheap and the end result looks very Russian. There are some aftermarket kits but buying those would for me negate the reason to buy this. The fit is reasonable and expect to be sanding some parts and putty isn't a luxury either. The are only 278 parts
  14. In 2019 Zvezda is to release a 1/144th Irkut MS-21-300 (Yak-242) kit - ref. 7033 Source: Zvezda catalog 2019 V.P.
  15. This is Zvezda's Helix kit, with slightly altered decals. A straightforward build "out the box" for my first real completion of 2020. and with my older Airfix Ka-25 Hormone kit: FredT
  16. I have to make a confession first, I never finished a scale model of the Bf 109 So time to change this. As I had the three new kits in my stash, why not to do a "comparative" build of them. They are from largest to smallest box - Eduard, Tamiya and Zvezda. Upon opening the boxes, the Eduard box looks rather empty. The Tamiya box looks to have more in it. And the Zvezda box is full up to the rim! But this is a bit misleading as several frames are from the older F model. There are plenty online reviews of

  18. Dear fellow Britmodellers, here's the new 1/72 Zvezda Pe-2 in markings of 34th Guards Bomber Regiment, Leningrad, December 1944. I built from the box with addition of Mini Art defense guns. Painted with Gunze/Mr.Hobby acrylics. Photographs by Wolfgang Rabel. The new Zvezda kit is excellent in detail and fit, comparable to Tamiya offerings. Alternative parts enable you to build aircraft of different production batches. 5 attractive color options are included, 4 Russian, 1 Polish post-war. The kit decals perform exceptionally well.
  19. I recently got a Zvezda 1/35 Soviet 4.5 truck. It is my first truck build, so please help
  20. Hello, friends! While the clear coat drying on my Hind E, I decided to start a new - and very unusual for me - build. I choose this kit just because I like the shapes of that tank! Also, my wife asked me to build something not aircraft-related and I got this box during the pre-sale from ARMA-MODELS.RU with some additional features: the brass barrels, brass wire, photo etched set, two paint jars (4BO and Whitewash), antennae, an air horn and the Fido (Sharik). So, here is the box: A lot of the stuff inside: The Runner A:
  21. Dear fellow Britmodellers, here's my 1/72 Zvezda ISU-152 assault gun, built from the box. Painted with Gunze acrylics, weathered with pastel chalks and artist's oils. The kit has nice details, but unfortunately, the tracks are too short to represent the characteristic 'sagging' on the upper rollers. In fact the tracks are so tight you'll hardly get them to fix if you painted the wheels/tracks seperately. On my first attempt I applied too much pressure and broke both the idler wheel and the tracks themselves. These had to be replaced with parts from another Zvezda
  22. For cheatline lovers everywhere and to complete my trio of recent builds I present the Zvezda Tu-204-100 in the old-fashioned, no-nonsense livery previously carried by Air Koryo’s P-633. The real P-633 was built in 2009 for Red Wings but the order was cancelled and after a spell as an engine test bed she joined Air Koryo in 2010. Sadly the cheatline has now gone. In the summer of 2018 Air Koryo repainted their two Tu-204s (P-633 and her -300 comrade P-632) in a boring and ugly “new” livery with a plain red line below the windows and a wavy flag on the tail. This model was on my “wa
  23. Zvezda is working on a 1/144th Tupolev Tu-204C cargo aircraft kit - ref. Sources: https://vk.com/wall-29859496?own=1 http://airliner-models.org/forum/topic/4281-новинки-2017/?page=7#comment-100454 http://scalemodels.ru/news/12050-anons-zvezda-1-144-tupolev-tu-204s---testovye-otlivki.html
  24. Hello, Britmodellers! This is my first armour build since the late ‘90s. It’s an excellent kit from Zvezda with a small addition of PE parts. I’m not the fan of an intensive weathering and dirt, so I limit myself to some chipping and a little amount of dust. Let’s start: The tracks and wheels were painted prior the final assembly: The small details are glued prior the painting and brush-painted with a water-based paints later: The top view: The bottom view: This time Zvezda provi
  25. Like the MiG-15 in 2018 (link), Zvezda is to rebox in 2019 the old Dragon Models 1/72nd Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-17 "Fresco" kit - ref.7318 Source: Zvezda catalog 2019 Original Dragon box - ref.2512 - link V.P.
