  1. Hello Folks. I Want introduce my new model and first completed model this year. This model was built under the impression from book about Roland De la Poype the French pilot & the hero of the Soviet Union . Best regards. Michael.
  2. Hi everyone, My latest completion for 2019 is Zvezda's Yak-130 in 1/72, a very nice kit of an attractive little aircraft. Physically the model is OOB with Begemot providing the decals and Peewit the canopy mask. Paints are Colourcoats ARG03 Africa Korps Tan Yellow and Humbrol 103 Cream for the upper surface whilst I used 65 Aircraft Blue for the underside. The cockpit is all Humbrol - 175 Hellgrau for the base with 124 Petrol Blue (both long discontinued) for the instrument panels whilst the MFDs are 85 Satin Black. Various Humbrol colours were used for all the details. Unfortunately the Begemot roundels were a bit out of register on the sheet I bought, particularly the fuselage ones and there were a few errors in both the placement of the markings and recommended camouflage pattern. I did a bit of hunting around on the 'net and found THIS thread on the Yak-130 on what's called the ForcesDZ forum which was an immense help in determing the correct colour demarcation and marking placement, although I still made a mistake with the fuselage roundels! The forum is primarily in French with some Arabic but it seems like a good source for info on the Algerian armed forces 🇩🇿. Now for the pics: Comments and feedback welcome! Mike.
  3. Zvezda kit built in the latter part of 2018. This was a practice build (and my first serious attempt at freehand camo work) before I tackled the Eduard kit. A mostly OOB affair, with the Master Models pitot tube as the only aftermarket addition. As always, thanks for looking 🙂
  4. The Zvezda catalog 2018 is online: https://www.scalenews.de/zvezda-neuheiten-2018/ http://scalemodels.ru/news/12358-katalog-zvezda-2018.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook V.P.
  5. Hi everyone, I have just started the Zvezda easy assembly kit of the Me Bf 109 F-2. I am actually quite impressed with this kit, as it is light years ahead of the HobyBoss Easy Assembly kits. I know, as I started quite a while back a Dewoitine D 520, and I lost my motivation while attempting to create a credible cockpit. No such problems with Zvezda, who delivers a rather exciting cockpit. Here is a photo after I sprayed a coat of aluminium paint to help with creating some scuffing/scratches after the RLM 66. I did add some PE rudder pedals, but I am wondering why , as nothing will ever be visible again. I guess I will sleep better knowing it is there. A set of PE seat harness is waiting in the aisle as well. The only problem to date is about the fit, which could be better under the wings and on the tail. Any puttying and sand papering has to be done painstakingly slowly in order not to destroy the delicate panel lines and rivets. Not sure everything will be left unscathed, but so far so good. Photos on the next post. Re the paint scheme, I think the kit's decal sheet is of very average quality, so I am doing a scheme from an Xtradecal sheet. It is the second from the top. Since I built the ancient Airfix Me Bf 109 G-6 as a kid, I have always wanted to do another JG 53 Messerschmitt, better built than the first one! Only problem: I cannot find a photo of that particular aircraft... So will extrapolate and do the same aircraft, earlier in its career, with most of the area forward of the cockpit painted yellow! It is suitably garish, and I can't wait! So if any of you has any tips concerning this build or my chosen paint scheme, please let me know! Cheers. JR
  6. #3/2018 My dad´s third and last Soviet WW2 subject for now. The excellent Zvezda kit, Eduard seatbelts added, EZ Line for the antenna wires. For the AMT-1, -4, -7 and -12 camo my dad used the new AK Interactive Real Color Air paints. Build thread here https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235047253-soviet-pawn148-petlyakov-pe-2-peshka/&page=2 12th Guards Divebomber Regiment in 1944 DSC_0001 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0002 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0003 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0004 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0005 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0006 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0007 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0008 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0009 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0010 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0011 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0012 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0014 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0015 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0016 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0017 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0018 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0019 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0020 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0021 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0023 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0002 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0001 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0002 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0001 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0002 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0004 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0006 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr DSC_0007 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr
  7. Not sure on markings for this one yet, but I love these little Zvezda kits and couldn't resist adding one to the stash, and inevitably, also the GB. I have markings in the post so final finish will be something either Ostfront or DAK most probably in a single colour because I'm not very good at camo. This is the box: And this is what comes in it. Note the tight, brand new tracks on this one in comparison to the built in track sag on the PSC version. Detail is adequate and quite nicely done, and they take paint beautifully so this should be another fun little build. When these are done I have <deep breath> A Pz 38(t), Pz II, Pz III, Panther, Ferdinand, Jagdtiger and Sd.kfz 251 in the queue. And some more Russian stuff (both GPW and modern). Then the entire 1st Polish Armoured Division. Told you I was a fan Andy Finding his niche.
  8. After finishing the Ju88, my dad starts the next 2-mot, Zvezda´s nice Pe-2 kit. DSC_0002 by Reinhard Spreitzhofer, auf Flickr
  9. I would like to present you my first jet. In my opinion Zvezda's kit is really good and there is no many issues. I make few mistakes, but have a fun working with MiG. Now is showtime.
  10. Hi all, Like a few others who have posted recently this is my contribution to the ongoing and excellent Panzer IV GB, please do not judge the GB my the meager standards of my model but pop along and have a look as there is some excellent modelling going on. This is my first 1/35 armour in a very long time and on the whole I enjoyed it, I will however NEVER enjoy repetitive road wheel! Any way enough waffle here are the pics; For those of you interested here is a link to the WIP; Thanks for looking in and all comments and criticisms are gratefully received. Craig.
  11. I needed something to get my mojo going again. My airbrushing skills, etc., have be eroding. Something simple that didn't get dragged down with overdone scratchbuilding, which for me always takes the wind out of the sails at times. This kit was in the stash and looking very smart with the fine details. Building it was not a total pleasure, the fitting of the nose cowls and landing gear was not without frustration. But happy to have a kit completed. Good from a far, but far from good is what this reminds me but happy to share. My airbrushing techniques evolve and now I am finding thinning my paints more than the usual recommendation works well for my style. At times 50-80 % thinner to paint for Vallejo Model Air. It also keeps the paint from hiding the smallest details. The decals ended up breaking apart in spots, another frustration. Comments always welcome, and I will apologize for the photo took on a bit of a greyscale effect which I don't understand. Craig
  12. Hey! First build since...., let's try not to screw it too much. I am, slowly, building the "stock" version, no eduard PE. Cockpit is done. That's small, and yes I did had some problem with the side panel stencils! Luckily we can hardly see them. Once question about the landing gear bay. What is their color? For the main one I guess it's red and grey, but for the front one?
  13. CAD images just arrived - ready to start moulding plastic....... I have no further information on actual release date - other than soon. Ken
  14. Zvezda is to release in 2015 a 1/72nd MiG-29 (9-13) "Fulcrum-C" kit - ref.7278 Source: http://scalemodels.ru/news/8359-katalog-zvezda-2015.html V.P.
  15. Dear fellow Britmodellers, this is my 1/72 Zvezda Yak-3, built with Eduard phot etch, Armory wheels, Rob Taurus vacu and Quickboost spinner. Markings are from Begemot 'Yak-3 Family' sheet, representing an aircraft of 303. Fighter Division, 3rd Belorussian Front, spring 1945. The model was painted with Gunze/Mr.Hobby acrylics. Photographs by Wolfgang Rabel. "White 19" was an early production aircraft, carrying only one UB machine gun in the cowling. I filled the recess of the gun opening on the right side and removed the small fairing behind. Thanks for your interest in this topic! Best greetings from Vienna.
  16. I am a thoroughly irrational modeller at times. In particular, I'll buy kits, then buy some more kits to practice on before I build the kit that I bought in the first place. For example, I bought the Eduard Rockin' Rhino boxing of the Academy 1/48 Phantom, something of a dream kit for me. Then I bought a 1/48 A-7 and a 1/48 A-6 because I felt I needed the practice on external stores. And an Academy Phantom to make sure that I have a dry run. This kit is not quite on that scale, but I pulled it out of the stash because I was thinking about buying a resin engine for another kit, and this has a well detailed styrene engine for me to practice on. I've been trying hard in the last few weeks to resist the pull of the novel, but I'm weak! (But I know I'm not alone...) So, this kit comes with a good rep, and a heck of a lot of parts. I like the looks of the Pe-2, it's a very graceful airframe: Zvezda give three marking options, though as often seems to be the case with VVS subjects, there's only one basic scheme. I'm leaning towards the first, from the 12th Guards Dive Bomber Regiment, but no decision needs to be taken just yet as there seems to be no difference in the build process or the basic colours between the options. In any case, the build starts, appropriately enough, with the detailed Klimov M105 engine. The M105 is similar to the Merlin: a V-12 liquid cooled engine rated at around 1,000 HP, like the early Merlins. This is one of those "kits within a kit", and must have 30+ components, most of them on this sprue: Plenty of very fragile looking parts that I can have fun trying to remove cleanly. But the interior parts make this look simple; there are over one hundred parts to put in. This is going to take me some time... I must finish by apologising for the awful pun in the thread title
  17. Have just picked up the Revell boxing of Zvezda's T-14 Armata Beautiful looking kit.................dull decals !! I have been searching for other options anyone know of any ? Cheers Paul
  18. In the framework of the recent toy tradefair Mir Detstva 2017, held at Moscow, Zvezda is reported having announced, as follow up to it's Mi-24V/VP "Hind-E" kit (ref.7293), a 1/72nd Mil Mi-24P "Hind-F" for 2018. To be followed. Source AlexGRD: http://master194.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=100171&sid=b7252e4ad3d849de8e26c4c009281a81 V.P.
  19. Hi All! Finally finished another build, this unusual and tiny model: Let me know what you think of my finished model, it's not a bad kit on the whole, just the decal issues were annoying really. Here are some pictures too: Thanks for taking the time to check out my build
  20. Zvezda is to release in 2015 a 1/144 Airbus A-321 kit - ref.7017 Source: http://scalemodels.ru/news/8359-katalog-zvezda-2015.html V.P.
  21. Hello Here is my most recent build with this 1/72 Zvezda Yakovlev Yak-130 of the Belarus Air Force. Markings came from the 72-071 Begemot decal sheet. This is an easy kit to build except the panel lines which are not deep enough and I had to engrave again. The colours have been blended to match pictures I could get on the Web. Critics are welcome. Patrick
  22. Zvezda is to rebox the Dragon Models (link) 1/72nd MiG-15 "Fagot" kit - ref. 7317 Test build was on display at the Nuremberg Toy Fair 2018. Do you like rivets... Source: https://ipmsnymburk.com/forum/viewtema.php?ID_tema=40056 V.P.
  23. Plenty of time left to do a Blitzbuild. Actually I'm not even starting yet but just open my thread. It appears I have to go on a 150km roundtrip to Helsinki to cheer our son and his floorball team, and be back home at sixish GMT. No worries... But here's the subject and the required pics. First the boxtop: And the back, showing a clean oob unpainted build and what you really get in the box. That's highly recommendable for all model companies! Sorry that's vertical - but then of couse it's only natural for a dive-bomber! And here we have the delicately molded sprues in light gray: And a glimpse of the simple but clear instructions: Finally, the clear parts, kit supplied decals, some Xtradecal replacements and the canopy mask set. I'll brush on Humbrol enamels and secure the snap joins with glue, just to be sure. Br, V-P
  24. Hi guys and girls, You can find the built thread here on the site. I finished this one having some issues here and there, most of my own making. The engine didnt fit too well. Needed some surgery to convince it to stick in reasonable. Lesson learned, more dryfitting even or maybe because my own scratch detailling. I had few problems with the landing gear, a first . With enourmess trembling hands I attached the antenna wires, they could be thighter but I take it. The canopy parts had disstortion and scratches otb. I was affraid to repair them, an error I will live to regret. Next time I will just try or order new ones. For the rest I tried to keep it tidy with minimal weathering. I hope you guys like it. I want to enter this one in the next IPMS Netherlands Euromilitaire show. You guys think I should do that? Tips tops are welcome. Greetings Lars
  25. Zvezda A321 with decals from @RICHW for Monarch and is the aircraft my wife and I flew on to Venice. And with the A320 we flew back on Thanks for looking. Steve
