  1. I'm researching a P26 build (with a hope to follow it up with a P12), and was wondering if anyone knew what paint to use for the Yellow / Blue schemes? I've sort of a zeroed in on RLM04 for the Yellow, but have not managed to decide what the right blue is. Is there anyone who can help me?
  2. Anyone got any suggestions for the yellow used by the London Flying Club? Cambridge Flying Club still use the scheme on their Tiger Moths G-AHIZ & G-AOEI. Due to working shifts, reduced daylight hours and the aircraft being kept in the hanger more at this time of year I'm a bit stuck for a chance to pop over and compare iModelKit against the real thing!
  3. When painting the 'convict's pyjama' stripes on Vichy French aircraft, is the recommended order yellow-then-red or red-then-yellow? I ask since I have the yellow in enamel and acrylic, but the red only in enamel, and I would find masking and cleaning up the acrylic easier. Thanks in advance for your replies.
  4. Hi Does anybody happen to have the newest red boxing of Airfix's old Sea King SAR http://www.airfix.com/shop/aircraft/172-scale-military-aircraft/a03043-l3043-westland-sea-king/ I'm giving up on my older boxing and making one from a Revell Sea King instead, using any bits from the Airfix if necessary. What I would like to know is if the decals in this newest box are up to Airfix's latest standard? The ones from my old box are awful and I really don't want to use them. I do have an SAR option on a Modeldecal sheet I can use but I don't mind paying Airfix for a sheet if they are worth it Cheers Chris
  5. Hello everyone, I'd like to have a play if that's all right. It's been the thick end of a year since I did any modelling at all, so am going for a relatively straightforward build of the first prototype Mosquito, which I've always loved since first visiting Salisbury Hall as a kid. My work probably won't trouble the judging too much, but it will be a valued addition to the collection so thank you for hosting this GB! I shall be using the Tamiya 1/72 kit of the B.Mk.IV twinned with the Paragon Designs conversion set with the short engine nacelles, early wingtips and different tail surfaces. I shall make my own decals for the serial code, and decide whether to go for the first registration of EO234 or her more enduring identity of W4050 during the build. The roundels and tail flash will be cobbled together from my various 1/72 leftovers - but any recommendations for the correct shade of yellow would be welcome - from a rattlecan if possible as I don't have an airbrush. I'm assuming that the props and spinners provided by Tamiya will be right for the job. I've heard tell that they're actually closer to those found on Lancaster kits, so this would be good to know. Sprue and box shots will follow as soon as Hannants have processed my order, so in the meantime here's a shot of the 1:1 aircraft back in late 1940. And belated New Year greetings to all - nice to be back!
