  1. started this build back in March with the 88 and the Artillery tractor, I had seen a few documentaries with 88’s on bridges retreating from the east. I thought I’d give it a go, I would have liked the bridge to have been a little wider. However the Plus models bridge’s are fantastic, I plan to pop on a base add some water and bobs your uncle.
  2. This is Trumpeters 1/35 kit #01527 with box art modelled on one of the very few clear late war remaining pics of this vehicle mounted with the Flak 43. As the kit included trailer is a fictional bodge of two trailers it was replaced with Wiener Modellbau's excellent resin Sd.Ah57 kit. There are a few fragile items still to be added including the width indicators and some small chains, but these will be added once the vehicle is placed on its base. Likewise, the crew gear will be further weathered and awaits final placement. It is painted in a monochrome but well weathered Dunkelgelb scheme with Mission Model and Tamiya acrylics and weathered with Mig enamels and Abteilung oils. This is to depict a retreating vehicle set in Northern Italy during the last months of the war. The kit overall is not bad and although I haven’t built one, appears a much better offering than the Dragon equivalent. There are a few dimensional inaccuracies and an obvious issue with the cab armour which Trumpeter again have managed to mix up with the two types of armour plate that were used, but it is an easy fix to remedy. The flak gun has a gunner’s seat missing which needs to be sourced/scratched and added and as already mentioned the trailer included is pure fantasy.
  3. Really enjoyed building this model ,in the middle of the Trumpeter 152 mm Howitzer (ML-20 ) to put on the back .Finished most of it ,being held up by the PE shield mounts. In various reviews i have read they are a nightmare to get right ,and Trumpeter don't help matters by the lack of info in the instructions . I really like doing towed Artillery .
  4. This is the radar tracking trailer to go with my AFV Club HEMTT 983 Tractor and Patriot PAC-2 launching trailer. The set is now finally complete.
  5. Haven't got round to weathering yet
  6. Started a radar tracking unit to go with my AFV Club HEMTT tractor and Patriot missile launching trailer. Not a lot of progress yet.
  7. This tractor is part of the Trumpeter SA-2 Guideline Missile on Trailer kit. I'm only building the tractor as the trailer is useless for anything but hauling the missile as it's so narrow and basically just a frame with wheels and not even dual wheels. This one is definately green, ugly Russian green so my camera isn't lying.
  8. Hi Folks I've been working on this monster for months now and while I've still got the base to finish I'm calling it done. I've used artistic licence in building the gun in firing rather than transport mode (barrel slightly raised, walkways and railings folded out, shell delivery carriage attached) as it can still be detached from the rail carriages. If anyone asks it's just been reattached ready for moving. All OOB except for the figure which I've included to give a sense of scale. All I've got to do now is find somewhere to display it as it's about a metre long... (More photos further down if anyone's interested...) Regards J A.
  9. Just finished this little thing last night. It was a reasonably quick and easy build with no major issues. Some seam filling around the inside of the launcher but other than tat it went together like a dream. There are a lot of decals for the missile, none for the launcher at all, but they were very easy to work with. One broke and i put one back-to-front. Some maybe upside down but you wouldn't notice tehm as the "print" is so tiny. I deliberatly went for a weathered look on the launcher and a clean look on the missile as it's a re-load. Unfortunatly the clear coat is too glossy...satin would probably have been better. The whole thing is brush painted with Vallejo acrylics (a first for me) and weathered with AK washes and Tamiya powders. Clear coat is a Tamiya rattle can. Cheers Sean
  10. Hi, I present my first model kit on Britmodeller. It is Mi-17 Trumpeter 1/35. It is only model from box, no detail set. I just created new decals.
  11. Hello friends Here is my 2nd AFV of the "modern era" I hope you like it, please fell free to comment, i want to learn. Best regards from Portugal Vitor Costa
  12. Hi everyone Here is my recently completed British Challenger 2. It was built OOB, painted with Mr Hobby acrylics and weathered with Promodeler 'sand' wash. For the camo netting I used pieces of bandage soaked in white glue with mixed herbs sprinkled over it. Hope the cockroaches don't eat it Thanks for looking. Cheers Greg
