Hello everybody ... Im looking for ideas to plunge mold a landing light lens for wing leading edge. Im gathering up the bits I need to build a 1964 Cessna 172D from the Mini-craft 1/48 kit. I know the kit doesn't have the leading edge landing light, only the single taxi light in the lower front cowling. Would I need to make a male/female or could i use the actual wing as the mold ? How to heat the plastic and what I should look for. Or is it possible to get clear resin or plastic and shape and polish it to get what I need ? if anyone can offer ideas that would be helpful. This is not a completely new thread. Rob started it back in May and let me tag along adding what I could to help with the conversion. I won’t be reposting all those build photos I posted but will pick up where we left off when the build(s) stalled somewhat when we encountered a problem and hadn’t decided on what to, or whether to, do about it.
