Last seen when I was about 13 and left a lasting impression - both for the flying - and the Mitchell. Utterly brilliant - has cheered me up after some sad news earlier today... The Lauridsen collection is a growing airworthy collection of classic types that is currently based at Buckeye Municipal Airport in Arizona. It's planned to move the collection to a new purpose built facility at Gila Bend Municipal Airport shortly. During my visit there wasn't another sole in sight, no gates or barriers either. The Invader greats visitors as they arrive and isn't part of the collection so I guess it'll be staying at Buckeye when everything else moves. There's also an Avenger present but this was locked away in the hanger so it wasn't possible to get any shots. As a bonus when visiting you're treated to plenty of F-16 action as the local squadrons as Luke AFB blast over at about 3000 feet.
