This Mirage 2000 I-012serves in Grupo 8 de Caza of the Fuerza Aérea Argentina. The aircraft wears the test camouflage used on the IRL Mirage IIIEA I-003. What if from the Monogram 1986 kit with Condor Decals decals.

Argentina has a long history with Dassault aircraft. The first Mirage IIIEAs were bought new in the 1970s, and the Sùper Ètendards were added to the Navy's inventory in 1980. During the Falklands War, with the need to replace the lost Daggers and EAs, Perú sent their Mirage VPs. In 2015, Argentina retired the Mirage family, ending a total of 45 years of supersonic aviation in the country. The Mirage 2000 was one of the many options offered together with the Korean, Indian, Russian, Chinese and Pakistani and US designs. The French and US aircraft are out of the question because of the embargo applied by Britain to British made components. This didn't stop the presidency of Mauricio Macri to buy five Sùper Ètendard Modernisè, which are currently stored because, you guessed it, the seats lack the explosive charges to blow the canopy in case of pilot ejection, made by Britain. This build will be a what could have been if Argentina had bought the Mirage 2000. The chosen kit is the Monogram 1:48 model, a new tool model from 1982, and reboxed several times, even by Hasegawa. The model faithfully represents the prototype aircraft without the refuelling probe ln the nose. The kit comes with two Exocet missiles and two Matra missiles. I'll be using a decal set from Aerocalcas, taking the eagle head. Roundels and numerals will come from Dukel and Condor Decals's sheets. Don't let the small box fool you, it's a decently sized aircraft in 1:48.

Hello The last 2 years, I was busy with this quite demanding project. And now I am pretty happy to finally share the result . I built side by side two Kittyhawk boxings, both in French Markings: a Mirage 2000-5F during Operation Harmattan (Lybia) in 2011, and a 2000D from Operation Chammal (Iraq/Syria) in 2015. The builds were far from "From the box" so to say... Kittyhawk... well is Kittyhawk you know. Interesting subject, quite nice details, but mistakes, lacks, or incomplete intructions. So I had to provide a lot of work to bring the models to the higher standard they deserve. It was mainly done with the help of 3D printing. Modelsvit kit 72073, made almost "out of the box", except for resin AM39 Exocet missiles (Eduard), metal Pitot tube and tip of refueling probe (Master) and pylons for Exocets (scratch). Hello Everyone, 8th October is celebrated as Indian Air Force Day. 2020 was the 88th Air Force Day for the IAF. I present the Mirage 2000 to commemorate this day. The Mirage 2000 was upgraded by the Indian Air Force and was re designated as Mirage 2000I. The kit is from Kinetic in 1/48 scale and is built Out Of the Box. The build is simple but Kinetic hasn't mentioned much in the instructions about which parts to use for the different variants which can be modeled from one kit. So you will need to refer your references for the particular version you will be building. The model is painted using locally available acrylic paints and the camo was hand air-brushed without the use of any masks. it was just simpler for me this way IMHO. I chose to give it a load of 4 MICA missiles and I am in process of scratch building the SPICE 2000 smart bomb which was used to strike terrorist camps deep inside the enemy's territory in BALAKOT. Overall the kit is a nice and simple build with beautiful detail OOB and I would recommend everyone to get this kit. I found this to be the best in 1/48 scale. Do enjoy the pics and the WIP video. This is a placeholder for my second entry in this GB. I have this kit both in an Airfix box (well, the box is long since disposed of), and a Heller 1990s boxing. I'm building the Airfix release, which I bought back in 1990: UPDATE: Box art from original Heller release (254? 354?): I cannibalised the French roundels some years ago, so I'll build it as the Greek subject. For some reason, I've never, ever, ever built a Mirage 2000 before. The shame, the shame, etc.

Dassault Mirage 2000C (KH32020) 1:32 Kitty Hawk The Mirage 2000C is a forth generation Jet Fighter built by Dassualt for the French Air Force. Like its predecessor the Mirage III its main feature is a large delta wing. The aircraft was designed and built in a surprising 27 months by Dassault using a lot of data they already had developed for the "Future Combat Aircraft" and the so called Super Mirage, The C in the title for the fighter stands for Chasseur or Hunter. As well as two internal 30mm DEFA cannon the aircraft is armed in the air to air role with Matra R550 magic, Matra Super 530D, MBDA MICRA Missiles. As well as the Mirage C there is a B model trainer, N model Nuclear Strike, and D model Ground attack version in service with the French Air Force. Mirage 2000 aircraft have been sold to Egypt, India, Peru, The UEA, Greece, Tiawan, Brazil, and Qatar. The Kit This is a complete new tool from Kitty Hawk, The kit arrives on 7 Sprues of plastic a small PE fret and 2 resin parts (the pilot and the afterburner nozzle). There are a further 6 large sprues which account for all the weapons and fuel tanks supplied for the main kit. Construction starts off with the cockpit. The multi part seat is made up with PE handles and belts. This can then be fitted into the tub along with the flight controls. The instrument panel and HUD are then added. As far as I can tell these are for the French version and although they differ for the export versions these are not catered for in the cockpit. Instruments are provided as decals. Construction then moves on to the front wheel well and landing gear. These are made up and the completed bay is put aside for later. It looks like the leg can not be added later. The cannon bays, and main wheel wells are then made up and also put aside for later. While we are doing this the full engine is made up for later as well. Then the cannon bays and main gear wells can be added to the insides of the main fuselage halves. The front gear well, cockpit and engine are added and the main fuselage is closed up. Even though there is a full engine there is no intake trunking supplied for inside the fuselage. Next up the multipart intakes are made up and installed onto the fuselage sides. There is a radar dish for the front if the modeller wants to display this which can then be fitted, if not the nose cone can go on. Now we move to the wings. These are a two part main upper/lower but have separate and pose-able slats and flaps. Flap actuators also need to be added. The wings feature the airbrakes which are quite noticeable on the aircraft and these can be opened. To the wings themselves the gear wells need to be built up. The vertical fin has a pose able rudder. There are also optional fin tips, however no mention in the instructions which to use for what scheme so the modeller will need to do their own research. At the rear end the resin afterburner nozzle is added The main landing gear then needs building up and adding. All gear bay doors then need to be added as well. The airbrakes need fixing on either in their opened or closed state. To finish off various aerial and antenna need to be added along with the refuelling probe and the canopy. Weapons & Tanks An impressive 6 sprues carry all manner of stores and pylons for your Mirage 2000C. They include; 2000L Drop Tanks 1300l DROP Tanks EADS Scalp/Apache cruise missiles AUF-2 Twin Stores carriers Matra R550 Magic 2 Missiles Matra M550 Magic Training rounds Matra MICA Missiles (IR & EM Heads) Matra Super 530 missile Aerospatiale AS-30L missiles LRF-4 68mm Rocket pods CC630 Twin 30mm Gun pod Thompson ATLIS II Targeting pod Thompson PDL-CT & PDL-CTS laser designation pods Decals The two decal sheets look to be well printed. There is minimal carrier film and the colours are sharp, everything looks colour dense. From the box you can build one of five aircraft Mirage 2000C 118-AX French Air Force (Grey colours Tiger Stripe on fin top) Mirage 2000C 330-AS French Air Force (Grey colours Tiger Stripe on fin top & Tiger on RHS Fin) Mirage 2000C 103-KV French Air Force (Grey colours Large tiger face on both sides of the Fin) Mirage 2000C 5-OP French Air Force (dessert colours) Mirage 2000-5 EL Taiwanese Air Force Mirage 2000-EG Greek Air Force (Checked fin with graphics) Mirage 2000H KF101 Indian air Force Mirage 2000C No.4949 Brazilian Air Force Conclusion The plastic looks great, and there is an impressive array of marking options available. The addition of PE and resin parts including good figures makes this an all round exciting package from Kitty Hawk. Very highly recommended. Hi everyone. Haven't posted here in a while, so here you go - I just built a 1/72 Heller Mirage 2000 twin seater and finished it in the colors of an Indian Air Force bird commemorate the 20th anniversary of the limited, but well-publicized Kargil war with Pakistan. The Mirage played a key role in turning the tide in India's favor with several sorties including some dropping LGBs at extreme altitudes. The war clearly cemented IAF's love affair with the aircraft and it has since then been it's go-to jet for tough jobs. I picked an unusual color scheme for an Indian Mirage, a two tone camo reminiscent of the older Mirage variants flown by rival Pakistan and strikingly similar to French 2000Ns. I believe this camo was worn by the two seater serialed KT201 temporarily for few years starting in the late nineties along with an equally interesting single seater painted in an even more uncommon desert scheme. This aircraft wears an unusual (for IAF) nose art depicting a Northrop BQM-74 Chukar (aka Chakor in India) drone kill. The build is mostly OOB except the following mods - I cut the canopy open, inserted a clear plastic partition between both cockpits, slightly detailed the seats, added PE frets for cockpit from spares, managed to salvage 1300L drop tanks from the spares bin with styrene fins, built a Paveway LGB with a PWII (from an AMK Kfir) + 1000lb bomb + fins from FAB-500, cut open the elevons for droop, added a homemade pitot tube with toothpick and Dremel, fashioned a Remora EW pod with heated sprue. Overall, not my cleanest build with poor fit, terrible decals and raised lines, but throughly enjoyed putting it together. I have by now seen some kits of the French Mirage 2000 jet fighter, but none of the kits I saw stood out as being that great. As I am writing this post, I guess maybe adding photo etch might be required in the end regardless. However, I thought I should ask kindly if anyone happen to know about a great Mirage 2000 kit in 1:48 scale.

Hi folks,may as well make it five,this has sat on my son,s wardrobe for a couple of years sadly the lure of X-box has taken another would be modeller (for now) so I thought a quick build and hand it over to him when it,s complete.I saw a 2000 many moons ago display at Mildenhall and very impressive it was too.It,s a straight OOB build and a bit more easier to handle than the 1/32 Phantom I,m doing over on the STGB,funny thing is I,m not really a jet fan!

After something like 10-15 years, I decided to do what I was I thinking of all this time. To return to the hobby! For about a year, I was planning slowly my practical return theoretically, i.e. to get again in touch with the modelling world, you know...techniques, models, gathering materials etc. Britmodeller (i.e. all of you) was and still is the point of reference on that, and I thank you all very much! I decided to begin with an unfinished job. The model I present here was started more than 10 years ago. Cockpit, fuselage and seats were somehow done, but now in dusty and dull situation. I had to redone almost all the filling and sanding (the fitting is in places horrible). My modeller's status is rather described as ''almost OOB'' and given that this model was going to be a ''guinea pig'' I took my time and the construction is described at the following log: Cockpit: -New HUD -Some belts on the seats -The screens on the panels -A plastic ''jack'' to hold the back canopy (which could not sit in place!). By the way, I found Humbrol's clear fix useless (I don't know if its age played any role for I have some materials that are more than 20 years old!) Fuselage: -I added the two exhaust tubes at the root of the wings -Filled the two machine gun bays (two seater!) -The antennas under the front -A pitot tube to look more like the real one -The hydraulic jacks at the rear landing gears-doors -I tried to fix the wrong shape of the underwing external pylons Painting: Probably the most challenging and frustrating procedure. The paints were TESTORS enamels with the white background label, and I've heard they're made for airbrush...Lots of layers needed, many mistakes were made. I swore to myself to never paint again with a brush! Decals: The most nerve-racking process for me I rearranged some decals that were wrong and I used some spare decals (from ITALERI Mirage 2000C). Disaster came when I ''lost'' a decal (just one thank God!). The ''335'' decal of the right vertical stabilizer. Desperate and frustrated I tried to find a solution... First I had to find the text style. After some research, I found two (for the upper and lower parts) and combined them on AutoCAD. Now, I had to make it decal. I searched for several solutions , like stencils, decal sheets, rice paper, wait a minute...rice paper and then ...lo! My eyes rolled on my rolling papers I use for smoke! I immediately tested printing my ''335'' under various plot styles on various leaves, applying them variously on an old model. What I found out is that applying water or decal improver or placing the ''decal'' first on the glue of a decal sheet doesn't play any important role. All that is needed is a layer of floor polish (i.e. Klear or future or Long Shine or whatever you call it) to seal it... And that was it! I am not the easiest guy or the less perfectionist, but I was really happy with the result and the solution I found! Finishing: I like weathering and let's face it, it hides several mistakes! Some washing, dry brushing and a layer of Winsor & Newton's Galeria Matt Varnish (we are talking for matt, no b***poo-poo!) and... voilà! Well, it's far from a perfect model but damn...it was a hell of a ride! Yep, that's this hobby for me. A mixture of mind-sharpening procedure with all this joy of creating. But also with a lot of frustration, sweat and swearing that only end with the finished model. And then THAT urge for more! Cheers!

Hi, Used Kinetics 1/48 Mirage 2000-5Ei kit to create this Rhodesian Air Force Whiffer, pure for the joy of building and painting something different . The Rhodesians bought this Mirage variant from Atlas Denel of South Africa. The Atlas 2000 is a development from the Cheetah-series and uses the Mirage 2000 airframe togheter with the russian Klimov-33 as power plant. They were specificly built as a ground attacker with limited air to air capabilites. The Rhodesian Altlas 2000 carries mainly French made weaponary such as BLG-66 cluster bombs, Matra Type 155 SNEB rocket pods and a Phimat togheter with a R.550 Magic air to air missile for self-defence as a typical counter-insurgency load. The add-ons are a PJ pilot figure, Aires exhaust, A (Kinetic) Kfir C-2 nose and Kitty Hawk weapons. Painted with Gunze and Aclad II and the decals are a mix of Kinetic Mirage 2000 and Kfir ones togher with some MAV-Decals. Unfortunatly the Kinetic decals silvered a little. This is my 1st Post on Britmodeller. so a Big Hi ! to all of you. This is a Heller kit that I found after a lot of searching online and was glad to lay my hands on. As building aircraft flown by the Indian Air Force is my primary focus, so no shelf is complete with out a IAF Mirage 2000. I have built the aircraft OOB except for the scratch built access ladder, the engine covers & 'remove before flight' tags. Hope you guys like it

Hi everyone, Can someone please help me. I recently started working on the 1/48 Kinetic ROCAF Mirage 2000-5Di. I bought the Wolfpack Mirage 2000D resin cockpit for it but from the limited info I was able to gather it seems that the two seaters in service with Taiwan are purely Mirage 2000-5 trainers. I am therefor not sure if the Mirage 2000D cockpit is correct for this kit. My question relates spesifically to the front and rear instrument panels. I cannot find pictures of the Mirage 2000-5Di cockpit anywhere on the web. Does anybody know what panel these aircraft uses? I suspect the front panel is the same as standard 2000-5 and rear as 2000D, without the rubber scope tube extensions. Any info would be much appreciated Thanks
