  4. I've built helicopters in the past (Airfix Scout and Puma, Matchbox Cobra and Hasegawa Huey linger in the memory), but not for a long time. I'm also way too fond of a terrible pun, so this build just had to happen. I'm really sorry This is what I will be building. Like all my build threads, it is waiting on my long suffering postie to deliver the actual box before I can get started. I'm stealing the national markings from this Begemot sheet I have for the Mi-8, they're the interesting red and yellow roundels in the bottom left corner between the Indian roundels and the Pakistan AF tail markings. I have two reference pictures, one shows a black 3 digit bort number, the other only shows the roundels. Time and the contents of the decal stash will dictate how creative I get. Andy
  5. Hello, Started to work on the Mil Mi-4, HobbyBoss 1/72 kit some times ago; decided to show you my progress. Kit with several Eduard photoetched and masks sets (interior, exterior, cargo bay) and a decal set from a Romanian supplier; my intention is to create an "all doors open" model with some basic scratch improvements. That being said, "the stuff pile" looks like this: Started by removing some nasty ejector marks on the cargo bay celing (the only plastic part not treated in the dedicated photoetched set); before and after: The machine has a nice landing light in the nose; kit representation is far from convincing: My effort spoiled by epoxy glue leaking inside the light (an aftermarket headlamp designed for some 1/48 vehicle but fitting nicely the size): Eduard photoetched dashboard is not matching the kit plastic base; decided to make a new one from scratch including the textile hood and frame (visible on the original and not represented in the kit):

  7. MisterCraft is to release a 1/48th (?) Mil Mi-4A "Hound" kit - ref. F04 Sources: http://www.modellbau-universe.de/produkt;mil-mi-4-hound-mistercraft;mc~f04;10;1;1;1.htm https://www.modelbouwkrikke.nl/plastic-bouwdozen/contents/nl/p44277_mistercraft-f-04-mil-mi-4-hound.html http://www.hobbycenter.pt/shop/index.php?id_product=804&controller=product&id_lang=1 Price tag suggests a 1/72nd kit and the box art reminds the old MisterCraft/Směr/KP 1/72nd kit. But ref. number is new and the kit is clearly announced as 1/48th scale. Kit ref.060046 Source: http://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/Mil-Mi-4A-Hound-Soviet-Transport-Helicopter-1-72-MISTERCRAFT-Hobby-Kits-060046-/391553938177?clk_rvr_id=1096532567915&rmvSB=true Here ref. F04 in 1/72nd: http://www.hobbysta.pl/mil-hound-p-56416.html To be followed. V.P.
