  1. Welp, here are my photos of my most recent model, Airfix's Junkers Ju 87B-1 in 1:72. A really nice kit, without any fit issues. Edit: Also, I finished using my current RLM 70 paint pot with this kit. The newer one, though having the same formula, is far glossier than the previous one.
  2. As the title says, I'm torn between these three models, and I'd like you guys to help me decide which kit I should buy. I'll be posting the three images of the three kits as three different comments. The most voted comment will be the aircraft I'll be buying. I encourage everyone to vote on one of the three options instead of leaving individual comments, so I can narrow down everyone's preferences and make the final decision easier. Thanks!
  3. This will be my entry build to this group, Italeri's Junkers Ju 87B in Italian service, or "Picchiatello." Here's the box art: Several sprues in light grey plastic, one in clear plastic, and a single photoetch fret. And the decal sheet, nicely printed by Cartograf. It covers four schemes, two Italian, one British captured, and the legendary Snake Stuka B-2/R2. I won't start building this right now because I have an Me 262 on the bench, but this Stuka will be my next project.
  4. Ju 87B-2/R2 Upgrade sets & Masks 1:72 Eduard for Airfix Kit The new tool from Airfix is welcome. Eduard are now along with some sets for it. Get what you want for the areas you want to be more of a focal point. As usual with Eduard's Photo-Etch (PE) and Mask sets, they arrive in a flat resealable package, with a white backing card protecting the contents and the instructions that are sandwiched between. Update Set (73633) Two frets are included, one nickel plated and pre-painted, the other in bare brass. A complete set of new layered instrument panels that will be prominent within the cockpit are the primary parts on the painted set, with new rudder pedals; seat details; canopy internal structure; additional instruments; seat belts and extra details. The normal fret contains external details, bomb details, canopy frame parts and airframe parts. Zoom! Set (SS633) This set contains a reduced subset of the interior, namely the pre-painted parts that are used to improve on the main aspects of the cockpit, as seen above. Whatever your motivations for wanting this set, it provides a welcome boost to detail, without being concerned with the structural elements. Masks (CX513) Supplied on yellow kabuki tape, these pre-cut masks supply you with a full set of masks for the canopy. In addition you get a set of hub/tyre masks for the main and tail wheels, allowing you to cut the demarcation perfectly with little effort, plus a landing light mask. Review samples courtesy of
  5. Ju 87 G-2, Werk Nr. 494083 at The RAF Museum, Hendon. Pics mine. This is a later, ground-attack variant; it was captured by British forces at Eggebek, Schleswig-Holstein in May 1945. It is thought to have been built in 19431944 as a D-5 before being rebuilt as a G-2 variant, possibly by fitting G-2 outer wings to a D-5 airframe. The wings have the hard-points for Bordkanone BK 3,7 gun-pods, but these are not fitted. It was one of 12 captured German aircraft selected by the British for museum preservation.
  6. Ju 87B-1 - For Airfix Kit 1:72 Eduard These sets are intended for the new tool Airfix Ju 87B-1 in 1/72 scale. Photo Etch The etch comes as two sheets, one coloured and the other in the traditional brass. Parts provided are; Instrument panel, rudder pedals, seat harnesses, pilots map pocket, battery/radio box, side consoles, rear gunner ammo box end panels, various side panel and parts for inside the cockpits, flying surface control levers, bomb fin parts, canopy and cockpit bracing, gun parts and sights, bomb racks & mountings, & cockpit grab handles. Given the large glazing the many parts provided here should suitably enhance the cockpit areas. The control levers for the flying surfaces should also stand out over the moulded on kit parts. Photo Etch Masks Masks are provided for the extensive Glazing and the wheels. They are in the usual Eduard yellow tape. Masks Conclusion The etch will no doubt enhance your model and the masks will be welcome for a kit with as much glazing as this one. Overall recommended. Review samples courtesy of
  7. Hello All This is my first RFI so don't be too nice. I won't learn if my mistakes aren't pointed out. The WIP is here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234973040-172-revell-junkers-ju-87-gd-stuka-tank-buster/ I drilled out the barrels on the main guns, replaced the kit supplied rear seat gunner gun with an Aires MG 17, added navigation lights, a landing light and attempted to weather the plane. The canopy was a pig to mask as the framing was only partially there and it doesn't fit very well. I did have a lot of fun building it and wished I had taken a little more interest in the plane. There was plenty of filling and sanding to do. My son bought it for my birthday as a joke as he know I am not quite keen on German aircraft. There is also a nice cock-eyed U/C leg and a boarding step. I will get them right one day. Thanks for looking. Stephen
  8. My Son bought this lovely kit for my birthday, wicked little bugger, I use the word little very lightly he is much taller than me, 6'15". I have never built a German plane before, I don't like German planes, well until today. Yes we have been to Toyworld again Winenut. I asked him which version I should build - bombs or guns, guns won. Some guns 3.7 cm but with only 6 rounds per gun. The kit has raised panel lines and plenty of flash to clean up. Could somebody tell me what interior colour I should use. Winenut used a grey and the instructions tell me I should use light olive. Good to be confused right from the start. Thanks for looking. Stephen
  9. QB32 141 Junkers Ju 87B Stuka Ammo Drums 1:32 Quickboost by Aires The Ju 87 or Stuka was a twin manned dive bomber used by the Luftwaffwe in WWII. Defensive armament was provided by a single MG 15 (later MG 81) machine gun to be used by the rear gunner / radio operator. Ammunition was provided in an enclosed drum holding 75 rounds. Supplied in the usual Quickboost flat-pack, you get one strip of light grey resin. Onto this are cast two individual magazines and two blocks of 6 magazines held together. Conclusion Great parts to add realism and a candid look to your finished model, and very well cast. These parts will add the correct look to the rear of your big Stuka. There is no kit mentioned by QB but these should suit the hasegawa or Trumpeter kit. Highly recommended. Review samples courtesy of distributed in the UK by Hannants Ltd.
