  1. Hi, There's some threads regarding paint drying times, but I've a question regarding the characteristics of specifically gloss Gunze aqueous paints. I've sprayed a model with Gunze H1 -Gloss White- recently, and after almost a week, the paint is dry but it's apparent it still hasn't cured. I need to mask and spray some red ares on the model. I've read, here and there, that gloss Gunze might take a while to cure - weeks, a couple of months, even years. Any tips how to deal with this - maybe how to speed up curing time? Thanks, Jay EDIT - I've stripped the paint, and repainted it. I used, as per Duncan B's suggestion, a coat or two of H11 flat white followed by one coat of H1 gloss white, and on inspection a few days on the paint was dry and fully cured.
  2. Dear Fellow Modellers I'm sure this is an old subject, what the best paints are for the RFC PC10 colour, but as a confirmed Gunze paint enthusiast I wondered if anyone had advice on a Gunze paint or mix they could offer? Thanks Andrew
  3. I'm needing some advice on the best paint to use for the RAF's tactical camouflage for Hunters through to Phantoms. I would prefer airbrushing acrylics, although I have used enamels in the past. I have currently stalled with my Phantom build as the Gunze colours I have used just don't look right to me, especially when I compare it to my Javelin painted many moons ago using Xtracolour paints. Phantom painted using Gunze Mr Color Dark Sea Grey BS381C/638 (C331) and Dark Green BS381C/641 (C330). Javelin painted using Xtracolour's equivalents. As you can see there is a noticeable difference even in the photographs. I have Tamiya's XF81 and XF82 but have never used them, are they any closer? I would be interested to hear other BMers views and preferences. Duncan B
  4. Good afternoon folks, this thing is making we crazy. Working with a model mate on a couple of Harriers that flown the last farewell formation 5 years ago. I'm talking about ZD379 and ZD433, a couple of highly patched jump-jets. Could you please help us finding the best GUNZE matches for the following colors? Dark Sea Grey Medium Sea Grey Camouflage Grey Dark Camouflage Grey Any help will be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot Simon
  5. Ok so I finally decided to have a go at my Heller 1:48 Jaguar GR1/3 from the recent re-release. No a great fit I have to say and lots of filler have been used! I am also very nervous of the decals as they don't seem so good but as I want to do the 42 Squadron version from 1991 I don't have much choice. I have recently been trying out Gunze mr Color acrylics and really like the result so want to use them on this kit for the grey/green disruptive camo. Question is would Mr Color 335 medium sea grey and Mr Color 330 Dark Green be a good match for the colours? thanks chris
