  1. I've started thinking about my planned 1/48 "Special Duties" Lysander, and I ran across something in Hugh Verity's We Landed By Moonlight which has puzzled me. I'm aiming to model an aircraft as it would have appeared on the ground in France during a pick-up, and had assumed that this would involve wing slats extended and flaps lowered. But in Peter Proctor's appendix on "Modifications to the Lysander" he says, "I also remember the pilots telling the passengers to push back the automatic flaps as they left the aircraft." I think this means that the passengers in the rear compartment lifte
  2. A question for the collective brains that are attuned to the ins and outs of the skyraider. Q: were the cooling shutters and cowl flaps tied so that they worked in sync? My intention is to build my current Skyraider with shutters open but does that mean I need to show the cowl flaps open too? thanks in advance.
  3. Hey there! Yet another one Revell Airbus here. Things are gonna happen really slow not only because i'm retarded, but also because all the additional parts are travelling across the world with the sloooow post services. Particulary the wings with the deployed flaps and slats were ordered at the contrails in the middle of november (expecting delivery any day now) and the wonderful Bearbus decal (D-AKNO former livery that always made me smile some days in the UUWW) ordered at the end of september, well is considered lost and since Gaston from Nazca decals is really rare to give a reply (1 out
  4. Afternoon, I've finally given into temptation and made a start on this one. I have some big(ish) ideas to go with this kit - we'll see how many of them come to fruition. Things I definitely want to do are: - Drop the flaps - Separate all the flight control surfaces, - Add external (and possibly internal) lighting - Motorise the props My inclination is to keep all the doors closed up - out of the box the cargo hold is fairly plain, and I think it would take a lot of work to get it in to a state that I would be happy with. Also, I'm inclined to do it 'in-flight', so whilst the ramp could
  5. P-39/P-400 Landing Flaps 1:48 Eduard This set is one sheet of brass photo etch for dropping the landing flaps on Eduard's P-30/P-400 series of kits. The kits them selves are good but the flaps are moulded in the raised position. Conclusion The flap area is substantial for the P-39/P-400 and this set will no doubt enhance an already good kit. Recommended. Review sample courtesy of
  6. Quick question, Has anybody ever tried fitting the Eduard flap set intended for a Cyber Hobby / Dragon Meteor on to an MPM/Xtrakit wing? If so how well did it go?
