I built this one for my father in law who served as a UN soldier in Cyprus in the 70’es. The Danes borrowed a number of Ferrets from the Brits. They had British licence plates and Danish flags. The few photos of the real thing shows the vehicle in a redish/sand/brown color. I used a darkened Hataka RAF Gulf War Desert Pink for the painting. It’s the new Airfix kit out of the box. Enjoy

Last one for the year, a quick build of the Airfix Ferret. Brush painted with Tamiya Acrylics, somewhat over-weathered with Vallejo Model Washes. No additions other than a couple of aerials from copper wire. Completed as vehicle in UN colours in Cyprus, 1974. The instructions say 5th Parachute Brigade, but a search online actually indicates it’s a vehicle belonging to 5 Troop, Parachute Squadron RAC. Thanks for looking and a Happy New Year to all.

Managed to get my hands the Airfix Ferret very soon after it arrived at my local hobby shop. While I finish off my Whippet and Sherman I thought this might be a nice quick build. First the sprues, which are nice and clearly marked: Neatly printed decal sheet: Im going to finish mine as a UN painted vehicle in Cyprus. My mother was a QA nurse there in the mid-60s while Dad was serving in Aden. Started with the interior and main hull. Went together very quickly. Just a little bit of dirty wash before sealing up - not going to be able to see much inside. Everything slots together really easily. Just a bit of blu-tak with some fishing weights to add a bit of “heft”, before I sealed the engine compartment up as well. Made a start on painting the wheels using Tamiya XF61 Dark Green and Vallejo Dark Rubber. That’s it for the next few days - festivities await! Merry Christmas.

MiG-37MFI "Super Ferret" - "многофункциональный фронтовой истребитель" ("Mnogofunksionalni Frontovoy Istrebitel", "Multifunctional Frontline Fighter") Following @Mikey-1980's ongoing MiG-37 build and seeing @jalles' wonderful what-if model forced me to launch my "Ferret" build. After digging my model junkyard out I have found a badly build MiG-37 which was a part of huge Xbay auction that I won several years ago. The main modifications will be extending the fuselage by 30mm, modifying internal bays and wing, adding canards. @Aardvark, Serge, what is your opinion on naming this build as MiG-37MFI? Hence I will butcher the airframe it does not matter that I will use this built model. Serkan

Comrades! Today, we display to the decedent West, the Mother Russia can show strength with our new weapon.......The Mikoyan Gurevich - MiG-37b! In a rather splendid splint cammo pattern. So here is how she stands.....the dull coat settled down the silvering a little, just enough to be acceptable. I decided to do a little light weathering on the leading edges but not too much. Huge thanks the @Serkan Sen & @Aardvark and all who have kept the inspiration going for the Ferret...and old but enjoyable kit to build. One I would recommend. Full build log can be found here.... As for the next build.... I am thinking of the Fine Moulds Savoia S.21 from one of my favorite Studio Ghibli movies....Porco Rosso However, I have a more pressing long term build project on pre-order. Due for release mid-November. Hope you enjoyed! Cheers Mike
