  1. Can I ask the members of the site what techniques they employ for getting their models correctly aligned? I'm talking primarily about aircraft models and am wondering how one goes about getting things like the wing dihedral or the tailplanes perfectly aligned so that the final model sits correctly and is not lopsided in any way. Do you as a modeller trust everything to your own judgement and mark 1 human eyeball? Do you utilise commercial or bespoke alignment jigs - I am not sure if such things even exist - or have rulers and set squares propped up on your modelling bench as a homemade visual aid? Do you compare your model to printed plans and measure everything to the nth degree? If there is a right way of getting everything perfectly in line then I would be happy to know how one goes about it as I can then perhaps look forward to the day when I might finally build an Me109 that has both wings the same. If this topic is covered elsewhere in the Forum then please feel free to point me towards it but I thank you all in advance for taking the time to read this thread and for any input you may wish to provide.
  2. I am somewhat stuck. I have mated the fuselage and wings and I was expecting more dihedral. I think it is 6-8 degrees but the wings look too straight. I was vey carful not to get fuselage bulge. Forgive the self, but it was the only way I could think of taking a picture
  3. Just started on a build of the Revell nee Matchbox Walrus and have been doing some dry fitting and I am puzzled about the dihedral or lack of it on both sets of wings!! Does anyone have a decent set of plans for the Supermarine Walrus which gives the dihedral for both the upper and lower wings? Or was there specific instructions on one of the 1/48th kits by Special Hobby? In the old Profile booklet the centrefold profile seems to show no dihedral in the nose-on-view but the side profiles seem to hint at dihedral on the lower wing. The (basic) rigging diagram on the Revell instruction sheet has both wings flat but it is only a simple drawing to aid basic rigging not an accurate plan. The mouldings when dry fitted give some dihedral on the lower wings but very different angles on port and starboard!
