  1. AGM-114 Hellfire (BRL32037) 1:32 Brengun The AGM-114 Hellfire missile is an air-launched missile for destroying ground-based targets with a high level of precision. They are carried most famously by the AH-64 Apache as well as drones and other slow-moving aircraft, and are used extensively for destroying enemy bunkers and compounds in the Middle East, despite its original mission as a tank buster. They are fire-and-forget and because of their relatively low explosive yield when compared to a standard JDAM they have a lower collateral damage likelihood. They are frequently carried in "packs" of four on one pylon because of their light weight, giving any aircraft a substantial capacity to inflict damage. The Kit The set arrives in a cardboard box that is sealed by the label, and inside is a ziplok bag of resin parts, a sheet of stencil decals, a small fret of Photo-Etch (PE) and an instruction sheet with five steps plus painting guide. There are ten casting blocks, the majority of which are in grey resin, but two are in clear resin and hold the clear seeker heads for each of the eight missiles included in the set. Each missile has the choice of a protective yellow FOD guard or the clear seeker head, PE fins front and aft, a toroidal exhaust port and a separate resin attachment lug. The launch rails are made up from a pre-moulded pair that have the pylon attachment points moulded into the centre, two stanchions that project downward and two more rails for the lower level. To these are added command umbilicals, PE locking arms and rear skin, plus resin attachment lugs. When the launch rails are completed, you can attach up to four missiles to each one, allowing you to house the full complement on the two rails supplied. Some of the decals are called out during construction, but the balance are shown in the final section of the instructions, and the overall colour is mentioned briefly at the beginning as black. Conclusion This set is excellent value for money, highly detailed, and you get everything you need barring paint and glue. Either missiles and two rail packs for your large scale project for a very reasonable price. Very highly recommended. Review sample courtesy of

  4. I bought this recently and thought that it would have made a nice subject for the Anything but Injection group build, but because that didn't make the cut for this years group builds I am going to build it here. The box and its contents are shown below, I have quite a busy schedule at the moment but I hope to start soon. by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr

  6. To all who likes to try this!! The Zvezda C-130 hasn’t yet a dedicated flap conversion set and as had the Attack squadron one already in the stash I decided to try this ... At first I was fondling around with the Zvezda plastic and measured the thickness of the wing and after some more measuring I thought it could work out and it did.. First the wing shape at the underside had a concave shape in the wing and at first I thought that would be correct but after some comparisons elsewhere and some looks on the Bring it! resin aftermarket producer Facebook page I came to the conclusion that it was wrong.. The perfect Hercules has flaws😖 The inner flaps need rescribing as they are wrongly shaped.. I also think that the panel lines for the flaps are a little bland and could be more pronounced. The flaps aren’t concave but they should be flat/straight..and there the resin flaps came in as they are pretty correctly shaped.. Nevertheless this Hercules is still to be regarded as the best rendition in my opinion as I had them all. If you leave out the Zvezda kit my second to love Hercules is the Airfix C-130 as it has a much better overall appearance regarding the Italeri....enough kit bashing now 😆 I followed the instructions for the Italeri Hercules cutouts generally only in order to get it fitted I had to thin down the wings considerably and this is not for the faintharded! Not only I had to thin the wings but I also did thinning on the resin as well as it some points it is quite thick. The outboard flaps got a treatment of warm running tap water in order to push out the more concave shape, not much but I did got a better fit in doing that... Now some pictures.. The picture above shows you the incorrect panel linesfor the flaps.. Even the panel lines for the wingroot fairing is way outboard which it shouldn’t be ...it should be nearer to the fuselage.. 10. Dear fellow Britmodellers, I built Brengun's Yak-1 "Aces" boxing with markings for Mikhail Dmitrievich Baranov's "Red 1", flown in summer 1942 with 183.IAP. The kit is a multi-media affair, with plastic, etch and resin parts. Painted with Gunze/Mr.Hobby acrylics, weathered with artists oils from Winsor & Newton. Photographs by Wolfgang Rabel. # Thank yo for your interest in this topic. A detailled build review will appear in an upcoming edition of Scale Aviation Modeller International. Best greetings from Vienna, Roman

  13. I tripped across this kit looking for carrier deck parts and thought it would be a unique build. Did some reading up on the drone and found out an interest combat proven history in recent conflicts. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northrop_Grumman_MQ-8_Fire_Scout This Brengun kit in 1/48th on first look has nice surface detail it will take some careful cutting to get the parts off the carrier sprune. Plans are very straight forward should be a good build I havent done a kit like this in a non traditional format.
  14. Dear all, Please find below some images of my recently finished SAMI review kit of the Vought-Sikorsky VS-300. The VS-300 was the first practical US-designed helicopter and pioneered the now familiar lay-out of a main rotor and small tail rotor. The kit is a reissue by Brengun of the Extratech multi-media kit. The review article will appear in one of the upcoming issues of SAMI. Peter

  20. AV-8B Resin Accessories for Hasegawa Kit 1:72 Brengun Hasegawa's AV-8B Harrier has been around for a good while now. It represents classic Hasegawa in the sense that it provides everything you need to build a high quality Harrier while never going over the top in terms of engineering or detail. The kit has also been re-released by Revell on at least one occasion. Now Brengun have released a swathe of resin goodies to update and upgrade an already impressive kit. AV-8B Nozzles (BRL72183) This set provides nicely detailed hot and cold exhaust nozzles. Aside from the crisp detail, the parts are cast in one piece which will negate the need to spend ages tidying up the two-part kit items. I've used similar sets in the past and found them to be far superior to the kit items, as well as being much easier to use. AV-8B Cockpit (BRL72182) This set contains upgrade parts for the kit's cockpit. Unlike many upgrade sets, which contain a complete replacement cockpit tub, this set is designed to be used alongside the kit parts. Included in the set are sidewall details and consoles, a choice of instrument panels (for Night Attack and... um, Day Attack versions) and a fret of photo etched parts, most of which are upgrade parts for the kit's seat, as well as other bits and bobs. I personally would have preferred a resin seat, but that could still be an option as there are many of those available. AV-8B Night Attack Nose (BRL72184)] If you don't have the Night Attack version of the Hasegawa kit, with the FLIR bump built into the nose cone, then you can simply stick this bad boy on the front and hey presto. The resin is beautifully cast and nicely detailed and, thanks to the design of the Hase kit, you don't even need to saw off the old nose to use it. AV-8B Wheels (BRL72185) This set includes replacement wheels for the kit, including the outrigger wheels, as well as a replacement for the lower part of the nose gear leg. There is a tiny fret of photo etched parts that includes scissor links that can be added to the kit legs as well. The resin is nicely cast and includes fine detail on the tyres that is absent from the kit parts. Conclusion Hasegawa's AV-8B Harrier II is an excellent kit and I'm sure it will remain a popular choice with modellers for quite some time to come. While these sets join a somewhat crowded marketplace, the quality is sufficient for them to be able to hold their own and provide a useful option for modellers looking to upgrade their kit.
