  1. Not sure if this should better be placed in the Armour or the Figures Section... I shortly received my 1/4 Scale Motoko Kusanagi Resin Figure (The one based on the Artwork of the original 1995 Ghost in the Shell Movie Poster) from E2046. The Overall-Detail Level is ok (considering that this is just a recast of a Vinyl-Figure). The Figure comes with a small Machine-Gun that for sure has some room for improvement, especially the barrel looks pretty ugly. Scrolling through the www i could not find something suitable from one of the many manufacturers of metal gun barrels for model kit tanks..... Anybody here having an idea, were to find something suitable? Pls see picture below. The barrelt of the kit is about 2 cm long and has 3-4 mm diameter. As this is Sci-Fi anyhow it does not need to be accurate under any aspec. Just needs to look cool;-). For reference there is a 1/72 Upgrade Barrel from Aber Models on the picture. ....Not too bad, but i think there are better options.
  2. Has anyone tried a metal barrel in the above kits? The kit barrel in my boxing is not in great shape, so I'd rather replace it. But I don't think that any company yet makes a barrel to fit, and those on Scalemates (all for older kits) all look far too short to be a simple and solid drop-fit.
  3. I know it’s an oldish kit, but does anyone know whether you can still get replacement metal barrels to fit Tamiya’s late Tiger 1 (35146)? I think Aber’s is 35L028 but I can’t seem to find any UK suppliers that have it. Thanks in advance
  4. Does anyone know what the photo etched parts on the left is used for? There seems to be three rings of PE, pluss two tiny parts that looks like maybe a bolt attached to each small elongated metal plate. Btw, the box I got, looked nearly identical to the image, only change was that the milled part seen in the image, a ring to be fitted closer to the "root" of the barrel, was milled together with the barrel and wasn't a separate part.
  5. 2A24M 125mm Barrel for Meng T-90 OrangeHobby 1:35 Whilst we have been fortunate enough to have seen and reviewed several maritime kits from OrangeHobby, this is our first opportunity to review one of their Red Series 1:35 armour upgrades. The barrel arrives in a poly sleeve with a card header, with the parts held in separate poly bags taped to a black card insert. Surprisingly there are quite a lot of parts that make up the complete barrel. Firstly you have the two turned alluminium and one turned brass part of the barrel, then you also have two small sheets of etched brass, one sheet of what looks like etched nickel, but could just be tinned brass. To complete the pack there are two resin parts and five small tie wraps. The instructions are very clear and easy to read, but since there are some quite complex folds and rolling of the parts, great care will need to be exercised. The tie wraps are only included to help fit the nickel parts around the barrel whilst the glue sets. Conclusion This is a super product and a must for those who'd love a super detailed barrel to replace the kits styrene parts. The construction is quite involved, but the results will look great on the completed model. Review sample courtesy of Orange Hobby.com
