While looking for some decent photos of DXXI props for @AltcarBoB, I found this photo collection from the Harold A. Skaarup book; it has excellent color photos of aircraft preserved in Finland; although all eras are represented, the majority are from WW2, so I posted it here. I think the Hurricane, Blenheim, and Brewster 239 will be of interest to modelers. @antti and @Antti_K are fortunate to live in a country that has so many historic aircraft to view! Doing a Finnish Hurri using the new Arma Hobby kit and SBS decals is getting harder and harder to resist, as is the Brewster! Enjoy! Thought some of you Phantom Phans might like these! I remember when we visited a longtime family friend stationed at MacDill in'63, they were just getting them. Got to see them and hear that wonderful J-79 wail when we were out in the gulf fishing. I think the grey/white scheme with the TAC shield on the fin was beautiful. Hasegawa released a special boxing with these markings a while back, IIRC. (I bet @Old Viper Tester has better photos in his collection!) I just got this from a good modeling buddy, and I wanted to share it with you. I had no idea Buffalo Air's Joe had an N3N! My kinda guy- anybody who flies an N3N and a C-46 has big brass ones in my book! Beautifully preserved USN classic! You might have seen these- if so, they can be removed. March 10, 2018 photos taken of the restored Memphis Belle. I think, and this is just my opinion, she would have looked better not being in a 'factory fresh' finish...I think the boxart on the old Revell kit showed her better than anything else I can remember. Still, a very famous Flying Fort and a very nice and complete restoration. Now, on to "The Swoose!" Since Sabrejet is about to wrap up his outstanding build of the 1/72 Sword FJ-2, I thought I would post some photos that might be of use for those of you contemplating the FJ-3/3M kit; a few are good profile views to help improve the appearance of the nose section. Please feel free to add to this post!
