This is my recent build of another Airbus. I had actually planned to finish it in the BA anniversary year but for some reason I had only a slow progress on this model as I chose other models to finish first. Well,now I finally managed to get this little Airbus over the finishing line. Not much to say about the kit and the build,as its the well known Revell A319 wirh British Airways and Germanwings markings. Troublefree build all around. The decals come from 26decals and worked great. The details come from the extensive Revell decal sheet. Paints used are Revell white 4 for the upper fuselage and Testors aircraft grey for the lower fuselage,engines and wings,coroguard panels are Revell grey 374 with a few drops silver. The red for the lower wings is Tamyia gloss red. Sealed with Gunze Premium Gloss to give it a nice shine. Cheers Alex- 27 replies

I am gradually building my way through the current and former European national carrier airlines and here is the latest addition to the collection. The final of the 2018 FIFA World Cup was between France and Croatia. France won 4-2 but getting to the final was a tremendous achievement for the Croatian team and it inspired Croatia Airlines to apply celebratory titles to veteran A319 9A-CTL “Pula”. They brighten up what is already a fairly colourful livery and hopefully make for an attractive model. The model is, of course, from the Revell kit. The build is OOB apart from replacement winglets and a few small details. White paint is Halfords Appliance Gloss White. The blue lower fuselage, now sadly a thing of the past, is Halfords Gadget Blue. (It’s from the same range as Racking Grey). Airbus Grey is Holts HL Grey 01. Contrary to what is shown in the decal instructions, Croatia’s A319s seem to have plain grey wings which cuts down on the masking. Metallics are by Tamiya and Revell. Decals are by BOA with Authentic Airliners windows (note that the cabin window spacing on the sheet doesn’t match the real A319 particularly around the emergency exits) plus some odds and ends from the spares box. Finally... After two attempts and over two years (on and off) I am happy to present my rendition of Revells A319 kit in British Airways Chatham Dockyard livery. This is something of a composite of some of the minor changes that have happened to the Chatham scheme over the last few years. Decals are mostly the excellent kit ones and the also excellent 26 Decals set which I used for the tail and windows. Also, a big thank you to @Turbofan for the crest decals which look great. They are squeezed in between the British Airways letters and the over wing exit but this is accurate. BA have since move the BA lettering closer to the door to leave a bit more space for the crest. This was a poor kit and by that I mean this exact one I used. The wing tips where poorly moulded requiring some reshaping and the fuselage halves where warped. In the right light you can see the top of the fuselage isn’t perfect and I should have spent more time on it but it is what it is. She won’t win any awards but I’m satisfied with this build and it’s given me encouragement to build more airliners. Paints used: Halfords Appliance White Vallejo Model Air French Blue Model Air White mixed with Model Air Pale Blue Grey (wings) Revell acrylics Humbrol Clear Gloss Varnish W&N Galleria Matte The WIP can be found here:- 10 replies

I wasn’t planning on doing this until after Christmas but it seemed to be calling me from it’s box under my desk! Indeed, I seem to have something of an aircraft factory going on with a 1/390 747 and a 1/72 Spitfire also at various stages of construction, although I will go straight to an RFI with those. So far I have filled the windows with Superfine Milliput, installed the cockpit window, glued the two fuselage halves, the wings and a few other tedious things such as the usual filling, sanding, priming... so, what do we have: Generated from my Apple iPad using tools.rackonly.com Two main sprues and a clear sprue containing the cockpit glazing and lights. Absolute ton of flash. Some of it so bad it’s hard to see where the flash ends and the molded part begins. With a lot of tedious cleanup I was ready to begin. Windows filled with Milliput. I rolled up some sausages and pushed them through from the inside. Once cured for an hour I sliced them flush and then sanded further once the Milliput had dried fully overnight. Generated from my Apple iPad using tools.rackonly.com With that done it was all glued together with some weight in the front courtesy of some bolts. There was a bit of misalignment in the top part of the fuselage but with a bit of manipulation and gluing in parts with Tamiya Extra Thin I got it close. Scraping and sanding and a touch of filler has got it nearly right but I’ll need to do a bit more work including rescribing. Thankfully, I now have a tool for that! Next post will show how she is so far...

Hey there! Yet another one Revell Airbus here. Things are gonna happen really slow not only because i'm retarded, but also because all the additional parts are travelling across the world with the sloooow post services. Particulary the wings with the deployed flaps and slats were ordered at the contrails in the middle of november (expecting delivery any day now) and the wonderful Bearbus decal (D-AKNO former livery that always made me smile some days in the UUWW) ordered at the end of september, well is considered lost and since Gaston from Nazca decals is really rare to give a reply (1 out of 3 letters) i have no clue what time will i get it. The kit surprised me being so small after working with rather big birds like B767-300 and A330-300. Following that i was further surprised to see separate nav lights of clear plastic that A330 didn't have. Hmm. But anyway the kit proved to be nice and easy so far. Since the wings are apparently on hold i decided to start with the rest of the fuselage and engines to be on the safe side. You might have already guessed it would be gear down and flaps full config for the final approach (oh, fingers crossed) Painting engines' parts with silver the straaangest thing in the nose part and this is how the assembly looks now, some parts just clicked in together Well yet to come are the stab wing, landing gear, and today i'm going to the paint shop to try to get some correct colours ...And patient waiting for the wings and decals. I present my Revell Airbus A319 in the retro BEA ‘Red Square’ Livery to commemorate 100 years of British Airways. I love this livery, it really brings a sense of the past depicted on a modern Airliner. I have another retro scheme I am working on which is the B744 in the BOAC livery. The build was OOB with the Decals from Classic Airlines. This was originally going to be an Alligent Air A319 but I made a complete mess of it at the time, and what I was left with was something that was fit for the bin... I saw these decals a while ago and knew I had to do this lovely scheme. I tried to tidy up the kit as best I could, then repainted it. I was tempted to buy another A319 kit but seeing as it has ceased to be produced anymore and the prices for them on eBay are obscene, I opted to give it a new beginning. The paint used was Humbrol Gloss White for the upper fuselage. The lower fuselage and engine nacelles I initially went for Halfords Racking Grey then went over it with Revell 371 Aqua paint. The wings were done using Revell 371 and then the coroguard a lighter version of Revell 374. I have now managed to pick up some Holts grey that I will be using on my future Airbus builds. Blacks and metals were various Revell Aqua colours. The decals are lovely, and laser printed. They are very easy to work with and manipulate around the curves of the nose. They are translucent though, and I wish I had filled the windows in when I made the kit over a year ago... they really look great on the model. I present my Revell Airbus A319 in the new livery of American Airlines N800IN. The build was OOB with the addition of Braz Sharklets and aftermarket decals from 26Decals and Authentic Airliners. It was a straightforward enough build, with the usual removal of the additional flap track fairings for the A321. I’ve had this model on my bench for a long time, but just never got round to finishing it off... so I’m trying to get through unfinished projects before starting anything new. I still think it looks quite strange seeing an A319 baby bus with sharklets... The paint mix I went for was mixing Revell light grey 371, Revell white gloss 04 and a touch of Revell Silver 90. It was a case of keep mixing until I found a shade I was most happy with. It was then brush painted. Wings and stabs are Revell 371 with Revell 374 coroguard section. Was then clear coated several times with Humbrol Clear, and then finally glossed once the decals had been applied. Here is my finished EasyJet A319 in 1/144 scale built using the Revell Kit and displayed in the new scheme thanks to Decals from DrawDecal. I have an A320 to complete in this Livery and thing I’ll try harder to work on the ‘swish back’ lines on the fuselage. I have put it along side a BA A320, both aircraft I have operated when I was Cabin Crew.

Austrian Airlines Airbus A319 in 1/144

I present the Revell A319 in the colour scheme introduced by Austrian Airlines in 2002. This is a sort of accidental model. My original intention was to finish the A319 in the multi-coloured “Park Inn” scheme carried by D-AKNF of Germanwings. However that came to an abrupt end when I discovered an unfixable problem with the Nazca decals. Luckily I hadn’t started the long and complex painting job but I was left with a “white-tail” A319 in need of an airline, not to mention about £30-worth of Vallejo and Tamiya paint which I had bought specially for the project. After looking at various other options the penny dropped that the kit had come with a very decent set of Austrian decals and using them would add another model to my growing collection of current and former European “flag carriers”. OE-LDA “Sofia” is the result and it’s probably only the third or fourth time in all the years I’ve been building airliners that I’ve used the kit decals. The model is OOB apart from replacement winglets, a BraZ satcom fairing and a few small details. White is Halfords, grey is Holts HL Grey01, the blue belly is Mr Color H45 and the engines are Revell Aqua 04 with drops of 50 added until it looked about right. The Aeroflex on the wings is Revell Aqua 374 and metallics are by Tamiya and Revell. The Revell decals fitted well. The “www.austrian.com” titles on the engines came from a Nazca Boeing 737 sheet. Photos suggest the A319s got these when the satcom fairings were fitted although bits of the titles were often missing presumably due to parts of the cowlings being swapped around. Authentic Airliners windows and a few extra decals from the spares box completed the ensemble. Thanks for looking and as always constructive criticism is welcome Dave G -
In parallel with my British Midland A321 I built this model of Air Serbia’s A319 YU-APC “Novak Djokovic” for display at the recent Scottish Nationals. Again the kit is Revell out of the box apart from replacement winglets. Decals are F-DCAL with a PAS windscreen and detail decals from the kit and the spares box. I have no interest in tennis (not even my fellow-countryman Andy Murray) but I do like Air Serbia’s livery and I think it makes an attractive model. First ever Group Build entry so be gentle on me! Took advantage of this kit being £6 on Amazon, the box shows why it's so cheap Current update on build: First time I've built a conventional airliner so this should hopefully be easy, all out of the box with BA decals too

Airbus A319 - Frontier 'Mickey The Moose' Revell 1:144 with Draw Decals Another Revell A319 finished in the attractive Frontier scheme. Each of their fleet features a different animal on the tail fin and is named after it. These are another set of the superd Draw Decals and my fourth in Frontier. This one is slightly different as it features the modified 'Fly Frontier.com' billboard. And with something else, else, and else! A319's 'Perry the Puffin' and 'Chloe the Fawn' and converted A318 'Stu the Rabbit' Thanks for looking, John

Hello crowd I'm really sorry to post something negative, but i'm being really wee weed off. My story. It all started somewhere around the last august (2012) I have ordered a Revell's A319 kit off the Amazon. As long as it was shipping i hesitated a bit and placed an order at Nazca decals for the D-AKNO decal. As the crisis was unfolding i started to remember the exact date of the order - it was the September 27th. 2012. At that time i was fully enthusiastic about this. A remark in advance: yes, the Nazca decals is the only place where this decal is available Some late october i began to worry about the order and sent some letters just to check if it was ever sent. After few letters into nowhere i finally got a reply from Gaston that my order was dispatched on the 6th of October. (i assume 'dispatched' as 'printed and sent' but anyway - two weeks?????) And also there was Gaston's remark about the bad russian post service blah-blah. Somewhere late december i began bombing Gaston's email again, just to get the little reply that the decals might got lost and i should have put an order for the 'cerified mail' (additional 2.50) I modestly asked to resend my order, but guess what the reply was? there was none! Alright. The winter holidays have passed and the time is now like late January. Again i'm sending letters to Gaston asking what would i do and receiving really short and mostly off-topic answers. Okay. Then i was on my vacation. As long as i was back home and sorted all i've placed another order for the same decal (for christ's sake!) and this time certified mail. It was mid March. On the 4 of April i received a post service tracking from Gaston. Oh, it's finally going to be done. Yes. Just out of curiosity i checked the tracking a few days later, and guess what i found? The postage was going to Chile! Now i was really mad but reasoned myself that it was just a matter of stupid mistake in numbers. I wrote another letter as polite as it could be asking Gaston to doublecheck the tracking number. He replied that he made a mistake and provided the 'correct' number. You know what? It was the same! It went to Chile. Chile is the freaking other side of the globe. I sent a letter asking Gaston to check the number again...and got no reply. I'm really tired now, it's May, 2013, almost 9 months have passed. 9 months i'm checking my mailbox. Everything eventually went in, except the Nazca decals. Some 30 euros spent on two orders, and i got NOTHING Now i'm considering washing off my plane and ordering some decals from the Draw decals. The worst thing is that most of the time you just don't get a reply on your letter. It's not that i insist you never use the Nazca service, it's just a story of mine. So sad. Steve P.S. Nerded out and built a Revell A319 kit I had lying around in a personalised livery (imaginary airline I had when I was a kid). Clearly I was a complex child. Anyway, here it is. A 'Lomasair' A319. still a bit scratchy here and there, but i'm learning. ...and here it is on the shelf next to my BA 319. See that here. -

Airbus A319 I completed a month ago. Not perfect, but getting better. I'm currently building the same kit again in a personalised livery (will post on here when done, if it succeeds) Goes together relatively easily. On my second time round i'll be paying more attention to the join lines on the engines. If you go for the CM56 option, i've noticed the starboard engine on both kits didn't fit together. Hi there, After the Air New Zealand A320 decals, Attach Before Flight has released another two decal sheets, this time for Azerbaijan Airlines: These two, just like the ANZ sheet are printed by BOA in the Czech Republic. I have bought the A320 sheet because some of these jets had/ have a bit of extra colour, carrying titles for the 1st European Games held in Azerbaijan's capital Baku in 2015. Maybe I'll go for a double build: Azerbaijan A320 and Indian Airlines A320... Cheers, Niki -

Kev1n and I have a (hopefully!) friendly difference of opinion of Revell's Baby Airbuses - A319/A320/A321- in this thread. To avoid hijacking RobF's thread with info not relevant to him I've started this thread to discuss the merits and problems with these kits, as I'm genuinely interested to hear (& see!) what's thought to be wrong with them. Anyone else that wants to chip in with their experiences and observations of these kits, please feel free to do so. First off, I didn't suggest these kits for RobF as he wanted a build with window decals, other kits without windows would better suit him, but I would recommend them as a first airliner for a build with open windows. The kit is readily available, relatively cheap, and there's a selection of out of the box schemes with excellent decal sheets. Accuracy wise I'd consider them pretty accurate, especially for someone who's new to airliner modelling, they certainly look right (to me at least!) when compared to photo's. The only obvious inaccuracies are the small flap track fairings that need removing from the 319 & 320 wings and a couple of flap lines to fill; plus the very undersize wing tip fences, which need to be about half as big again on all versions. Build wise I've never had any problems with them, having put them together with very little filler and only a light sand along the join lines to eliminate them. I've certainly not experienced any fit problems around the wing roots that Kev1n is alluding to. One area that can improve the look of the model, and is only really relevant if doing a clear window model, is to remove the scribed in windows of the cockpit glazing, which is too small. I do this after attaching the glazing and filling around it with superglue. The glazing can then be sanded and polished to fair it in, and the decal windows used as a template to make window masks of the correct size, which (just!) fit the clear glazing. I'll take some photo's later of one that's built ready for the paintshop to illustrate the cockpit glazing & the wing joins. Over to you Kev1n , what exactly is wrong with the wing join , and what are the "multitude of other less obvious problems"? -
Revell's Airbus A319 built out of the box and using the twosix decals easyJet set. Thoroughly enjoyable build with superb decals, both those from twosix decals and those from Revell. G-EAZW selected as this aircraft brought Alison and I back from a wonderful week with one of our daughters in Sorento, Italy, flying from Naples to Liverpool. Here are a few pics. Hi everybody as I'm new here I thought I'd show some of the models I am particularlly pleased with from my 100+ collection. The Jaguar I just finished tho still cant get a straight yellow band around the bombs! And the A319 before the Jag (lesson learned with the A319 dont use aircraft paint on plastic it peels off) Anyway please look and comment, my next Build is the Airfix 1/48 Lynx HMA8 Roundals and fin flash on the Mustang had to be painted by hand due to decal disintigrating. And now my personal favourite

Look away if you don't like airliner models, this one even has Bambi on the tail! It is the Revell A319 with a couple of mods. I replaced the winglets on the wingtips as the kit one are undersized. I also added the TV satellite receiver on top of the fuselage, as Frontier have them fitted on all of their fleet. It wasn't easy to find any info on it so it has involved studying photographs and making my own approximation of what I could see. I used a disc of 40 thou plasticard shaped as best as I can work out. Cockpit windows were masked to keep them clear, which always seems to work better on the A319 kit than it does on the A320. The decals are from Draw, printed on a constant carrier film so you have to do careful cutting out. The big logos on the fuselage side were a little awkward to place, and did get a bit of silvering under them. Next time I would cut them into smaller sections. Draw suggest settling them down with a hot towel or kitchen paper dipped in hot water, and this certainly works well. Thanks for looking if you made it this far John -
