Recently finished. Ended up with a few blemishes on it, so not quite as happy as I'd hoped, but pleased overall 🙂 Planning on making a Max soon, and currently working on refurbing an already made A321 (custom livery and upgrading to Neo) Chris Other recent builds SAS A320neo https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235106308-sas-scandinavian-a320neo-zvezda-1144/ TAP A321neo: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235104313-revell-a321neo-tap-air-portugal-1144-ready-for-inspection/ BA Cityflyer Embraer 190: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235106306-ba-cityflyer-embraer-195-revell-1144/#comment-4328680

My latest project, a being 737 MAX 8200 in the livery of Buzz, a Polish subsidiary of Ryanair, formerly known as Ryanair Sun. I've always enjoyed the demented bee on the fin, and have flown with them once. The kit is the Zvezda MAX 8, with the windows filled and repositioned to replicate the higher density MAX 8200. I also had to raise the landing gear to replicate the MAX's higher ground clearance, as the kit seems to have the NG's lower gear. Painted with a mix of Humbrol and Plastikote spray cans, varnish and acrylic pots. Went for a much more showroom finish than usual, but VERY pleased with the result. Excellent decals from 26 decals. The shelf is now full! Suggestions on a narrowbody to do next?

Working on a MAX in the new Icelandair blue/blue livery (it gets a knocking but I like it). Kit went together like a dream and in spite of a fee imperfections I'm happy, mostly humbrol spray cans but hand painted engines. Awaiting decals from the US to complete the livery. Particularly happy with the static wick dischargers made out of strands of an old fake Xmas tree.

My first Zvezda build, suffice to say I'll be going back for more. Movable high lift devices were fiddly, and I'll be more careful with them next time as I definitely dinged a few of them with the knife. The fit fits like a glove. I used the OOB livery decals. These look good but I found them to be a bit fragile. Pax and flight deck windows are authentic airliners as always. Painted mostly with Humbrol spray cans. A Zvezda 737ng is already in the post! Hello all. This is just a place holder at the moment as I have a couple of other builds on the go at the moment. Over the last few months (well, lockdown really!), I have got to like building 1/144 scale aircraft. Some time ago, I did a VC10 C.Mk1K (ish) where I selectively modified the Airfix tanker to a different version. I have always liked the VC-10, especially as I had been in one in 1970 on my return from Singapore. I have known for a long time that a then Soviet aircraft was very much like a copy of the VC-10, so when Zvezda issued their IL-62M, I just had to have it. It has been in the stash since it was issued, and this gives me the ideal opportunity to build it. It was boxed very nicely, a sleeve with the artwork and a very sturdy inner box with the goodies: The transfer sheet was too big for the box, thankfully they did not fold it, but it is not far off! I will be doing the one with the orange/blue cheatline rather than the Aeroflot ones. I am looking forward to this one starting in a week's time. Good luck everyone, Ray

I'm going to have to try very, very hard not to overcommit to this GB since so much of my stash qualifies. I've got a lot of ideas for builds and there's no way they're all going to make it, but the one at the top of the list is an Il-76LL of the Gromov Flight Research Institute - specifically this one: This is RA-76529, which has been used to test a few engines - it appeared at Farnborough in (I think) 1994 with a propfan engine intended for the Antonov An-70 in the no.2 engine position. It was wearing a more traditional Aeroflot-style colour scheme back then. This incarnation has the Aviadvigatel PD-14 engine for the Irkut MC-21 airliner in that position. The Zvezda Il-76MD is the base kit. I've had this since it was first released so it's about time I built it. I've always been surprised we don't see more of these built. Here's the box shot: Obviously it needs a PD-14 engine, so I've drawn one up and printed out a test print on my 3D printer: Obviously I've printed two sets here - it's good to have a spare - and I just realised I forgot to print the heat exchanger intake for the rear fuselage, but there's plenty of time for that. I've broken the engine down into 8 components - the fan, separate fan spinner, engine core, nozzle centre body, nacelle in 3 parts, and pylon. Looking forward to building it up. I've also designed decals and had them printed by Dr Decal and Mr Hyde in Sydney, who always seem to do a good job. Looking forward to getting into this. If I can make quick progress there will be another Gromov aircraft to follow - a Tu-154. thanks for looking Julian

Hello all. This is not another Rock star's aircraft by the way. I needed to do something a little simpler than my last project which was a vacform Felixstowe F.2A. I was booked into a Group Build (Unarmed) and I thought that this Ilyushin would be an ideal candidate. The build log, complete with a number of self-inflicted errors, is here if you would like a laugh look: This is what I ended up with: And to compare it with the VC-10 which it so looks like: All in all, this kit certainly did it's job, it was a lot easier than the Felixstowe, but it still gave me things to think about. Oh yes, the reason it is REM's Il-62M is that it was operated by the Russian Emergencies Ministry. Thanks for looking, Ray

Here's my Zvezda 1/144 A320 finished in VietJet colours using Lima November decals: thanks for looking Julian

From the looks of things, so far at least, nobody's doing anything modern or civvie so I'll be bucking the trend! I'm going to build an A320 in VietJet colours, with a big 'Vietnam' logo on the forward fuselage (seems appropriate!), using the Zvezda kit and Lima November decals. I'll just leave this here for now - need to make more progress on my three builds in the helicopters GB before I can contemplate cluttering up the bench with a fourth build, and haven't dug the kit out of the stash yet, but here's a photo I took in Hanoi 5 years ago to show you what I have in mind: Back to masking that Swedish camouflage...
