This is an aircraft that is very special to me, Yugoslav Air Force MiG-21UM s.n. 16174. It was my first aircraft when I started working as an aircraft mechanic and it was very important to me to make it as similar to an actual aircraft from that period. And I'm happy with the result. Trumpeters kit doesn't provide an open canopy option so I had to do some additional work - creating the frame between the front and rear cabin, the internal part of the periscope, and canopy supports. I've also moved the venturi pipe from the bottom to the port side below the cabin. The Pitot tube is a brass one from the "Master". The initial plan was to leave the electronics bay open, but due to the engineering error in the kit, it wasn't possible for me at that stage of the build. The whole internal part of the cabin is larger than the canopy and the front instrument panel with the HUD is placed too far forward and goes inside the electronics bay. If I had known this before I started working, it would be possible to make some adjustments. Anyway... I'm satisfied and I hope you'll like it too. Cheers

Hi folks. My latest completed project - Litaki's Soko J-22 Orao, in the colours of the Yugoslav Air Force. Built completely out of box, brush painted with Vallejo acrylics. The kit was, for the most part, very nice. Some issues typical of short-run kits which made construction a little hairy at times, but when built up it makes a very nice model. The decals in particular were a pleasure to use - great colour opacity, but settled nicely into the panel lines. The only thing that I found very annoying was the canopy masks that came with the kit - these are vinyl rather than paper, and did not adhere to the surface of the canopy, so I had to improvise a bit with masking fluid and normal masking tape. But overall, would recommend this kit to an experienced modeller looking to make this interesting little aircraft.

Hi all. My most recent project, Tamiya's Mosquito FB Mk VI in the colours of the Yugoslav Air Force. Mostly out of box but the decals are from the Lift Here set, and I also used the Eduard canopy mask set. Brush painted with Vallejo acrylics. The aircraft was a former RAF bird delivered to the Yugoslav Air Force in December 1951. This build went together incredibly quickly (for me) and I'm very happy with the results. I kept it light on the weathering and I think the colours pop very nicely, a very attractive scheme. The Tamiya kit was basically perfect and needed only minimal sanding and zero filler. Some minor frustrations (don't look too closely at the carrier film on the stencils on the underside!) but overall an enjoyable build which is what it's all about! Enjoy!

Hello everybody... So I'm going to try this again. I have the correct kit this time, i purchased the over-tree’s kit of this. Which does include the correct wing for my plane. To remind everyone these are the decals I will be using. These were a gift from Craig - @modelling minion and his friend in Serbia. I will be doing white 44 as it is my favorite #. For all that are following my “Der Adler” build. You are welcome to follow along. This includes @Sturmovik, @opus999, @f111guru, and @Gondor44. I will start sometime over the next few days. If anyone has questions, comments, good stories or jokes please go ahead and ask or tell them. Dennis

Jovac posted a topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
I'd like to introduce to you the model I completed this morning. It is a model of the FIAT G.50 BIS plane that was part of the Yugoslav Air Force during the Second World War. The pictures are here and enjoy.
