I've mentioned the Yorkshire Auction House before now as I've seen a couple of episodes where they sell what's obviously stashes of kits, sadly mostly from a deceased person's estate. Tonight however on the Celebrity version, the Celebrity was Owain Wyn Evans, the weather presenter who is also an energetic drummer. His father worked on aircraft during WW2, and Owain had some aircraft artefacts to be sold in the auction but his father had also got a huge stash of kits, many of them in the boxes they'd been sent to him in. Most were Airfix kits in the early '70's boxings, the programme didn't dwell on them in any great detail, save an Airfix Short Skyvan and it also showed some matchbox and revell kits, again in early '70's style boxes. In the auction, the Short Skyvan was a single lot, and sold for £100 if I remember rightly, but altogether, there were 24 other lots each made up of (it looked like) about 12 or so kits, and in total they sold for £1,638. I was impressed with this, I don't know if I want the buyers to actually make them, or hold them as part of a collection of early 1970's box art and kits!

Hello Everyone. I'm Jerry, aka owl. ( Wife's nickname for me ). I live in North Yorkshire by the seaside. I'm new to this hobby so don't know a great deal about it but I'm fascinated by planes and helicopters, my main interests are modern aviation but like the older stuff too and anything unusual/weird. I hope to gain some knowledge and also share some when I gain it. I'm going to model mainly in 1/144 and 1/100 scale due to space limitations. I have just completed my first kit A revell 1/144 chinook ch47d helicopter. Hope to talk to some of you soon. Jerry
