This thread began badly, for you the new reader, with a lot of click-bait "guess what I'm going to build" nonsense. After that followed a week's worth of meandering and discussion about motivation before I got on with the building of HMS Bellerophon. It was fun for us that were participating in real time but reading it months later, I realise how tedious it will be for latecomers. Today on July 9th 2023, I have worked through the entire 19 pages of this topic and edited most of the waffle, padding, lame humour, psychobabble and attention seeking posts out. I left only those words and pictures that related either to the building of the model of Bellerophon or to the ship herself. I have made my posts as concise as possible and hope that it's now a lot more accessible to new readers. Unfortunately there's nothing I can do about the replies from others to my waffle etc. I believe the best way to approach this is to scroll down and stop only at the photo updates. Save time by starting HERE. Then follow the stepping-stone links at the foot of each build update which will take you swiftly past the digressions and land you on each real step forward in the build. Or read it all, it's your choice. There are a couple of history essays included in the linked sequence but they aren't necessary to follow the build. You know what to do.

I have always been a plastic aircraft modeller, but I have alawys been interested in sailing ship models, and have decided to take the plunge. The question is where to start? Solid hull, plank on frame? I welcome all suggestions/recommendations.
