Eduard 1/72 B-25J Mitchell Strafer #7012- nose cone weight.

Hello all I had nearly finished this kit and was just about to add the nose cone (section R, pages 8 & 9). However, seeing that the kit had a front wheel I wondered once the front nose cone and rear tail assembly were fitted, if the kit would stand on all 3 wheels. I temporarily fitted both sections, only to see the kit rest on its rear, with the nose cone pointing skywards! It then occurred that there needed to be a weight in the nose cone so as the aircraft would stand on all its 3 wheels (or alternatively some form of rear support). I scoured through the instructions to see how much weight would be needed, but found nothing. In the end, I just put as much lead weight in the nose cone as I could, hoping that it would suffice and luckily it did (I don't know how much weight I used). Other manufacturer's aircraft of similar design, usually tell you in the instructions to add a weight, unless you are building the kit with the undercarriage raised (this option was not available in the instructions), and inform you of the recommended weight to use. I was going to email Eduard and inform them, but couldn't find an email address. So if anyone has, or looking to purchase, this kit, be aware that you will need to weigh the front down or put some form of support at the rear. I think this is the first Eduard aircraft I've built that has this wheel type of assembly. Happy modelling. -
Hi folks, I wondered if anyone could share their experience of making sure that an aircraft does not become a tail sitter. What does everyone use as nose weight - especially when space is a premium. Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Kris
