My rebuilt model of the Pegasus models Martian War Machine from the original (and best) 1953 film of War of the Worlds that I recently completed & Based loosley on the crashed aircraft scene from the film. Complete with DIY lighting which includes pulsing ray gun, steady green front, wingtip torpedo rays and magnetic flux leg emiters and flickering white LEDs where the invisible magnetic legs made contact on the ground. I'm not an electronics whiz so its based on a circuit I found on youtube and modified to use less components and split power to the three set of LEDs so I can use just one switch to power the whole thing. Aircraft is an OOB Airfix 1/72 Bird Dog which I think works well against the 1/48 scale Mars Machine. Base started life as a Ferrero Rocher choccy box.

Hi all, this is a rare 80's vac form and resin kit that I bought off eBay last year. I added a lighting kit and it comes with two speakers for sound effects. It's about 1/3 larger than the Pegasus 1/32 kit so pretty big, should be a fun build.

Hi guys, this is the final reveal of the Martian War Machine Diorama. This was my way of breathing new life into an old 80's vac form kit, I've also added a few pictures of how the project started out and also showing the modifications to the house, hope you like the results. Finally, you can see my work in progress of this build in the link below.

Hi all, First time with a WIP in this section. Apologies for the title - WOTW purists will probably wonder why I've used the Martian warcry referred to in the original book and the 1970's musical version. Think it's probably that the album music is currently acting as a mindworm as I work on this.... It's the Pegasus 1/144th scale rendition of the start of the battle in the 1953 film version. Picked this up at SMW last weekend and thought I'd do it as a quick build, there aren't many parts to this - each Sherman comprises 4 parts, each War Machine 6 parts. Tanks painted OD, Martian laser blast is a variety of Tamiya clear colours, the War Machines are copper plated already. Any suggestions to improve the blast? Considered lighting effects but can't split the machines without damaging the finish... More to follow....
