Hello all I have a 1:72 Handley page victor b1 matchbox conversion planned to start some time next year after my Canberra build. I have been looking online and racking my brain trying to find the dimensions of the pointy b1 tail cone dimensions needed for the b1 build. I have been unable to find anything about it, so I did the next thing I could think of and started to look at other aircraft parts that have the same or similar shape that I could potentially hack off and use as the tail. Unfortunately that didn't really work out as well so I am currently at a standstill. The Victor b1 in question that I want to replicate is Victor b1 XA922 but I need to find a person who has made that tail cone and has the dimensions still or find someone who can make me the piece needed if that's possible. I will be doing XA922 before she received the camouflage wing panels, so the XA922 i will modelling will be as my photograph I purchased of her flying sporting the full anti flash white paint with under wing serials and numbers with the type D roundels. Also would anyone happen to have anymore information on XA922 because all I can find is that she didn't enter into a raf squadron but was used at various places such as A&AEE, RAE Farnborough and from my little book lastly at Handley page Radlett. Thanks in advance Ryan amateur modeller.

Well I’ve been away a long while again and life has been getting in the way. So today I was delighted one of my all time favourite aircraft arrived the Victor B1 ! I am over the moon that a kit manufacturer is finally recognising the early V Bombers which for me have always been my favourite. I hear a Vulcan B1 is also on the way and I cannot wait. Early Vulcan and Victor B1s where totally different aircraft to the B2s the Vulcan more so but they both had completely different wings and many many other details which are at first hard to notice to the untrained eye but eventually you realise they where very different aircraft. This kit is going straight on the bench I’ve waited all my life for this as no one has attempted early V Bombers since Frog, Kader and Lindberg a few decades ago. The kit at a glance looks superb and a major step up from the Valiant kit. Box Art though cool does not do the kit justice. Intakes look odd but the moulding looks More promising. nice to see they captured the strange angles of the wing. here is a comparison with the Pit Road GWH B2 they match up very well and different where they should be but also in terms of surface detail and finesse they are fantastic together. The glazing is well done and the plastic feels great. I can’t believe this even comes with canopy Masks ! Amazing !!! Pit road right and mikromir left Pit Road top and MikroMir bottom MikroMir top Pit Road Bottom The decals whilst may be odd choices are much better by the looks of it than what came with the Valiant. That said you may want to pick your subject carefully. It has some small etch and best of all a canopy mask ! Wow what a kit... I’m very impressed. Now the question does it fit well ?... Well let’s find out ! I will be making a standard white B1 but not decided yet which. Thanks so much to Mikro Mir for releasing this. (Please do 1/72 versions too c’mom you know you want too ) cheers Rob
