  1. Good morning everyone... Id like to present my Matchbox 1/72 Vickers Wellesley. It represents an aircraft from 14 Squadron Port Sudan in Summer 1940. The only modification done to the kit is to pose the side windows open and mount a gun in the starboard position as similar to this photo. I understand there is some debate to the colors of these Wellesley’s but I think the contrast lends itself to being Dark earth/Light Stone or Sand. So in the end I opted to go with those colors. To give you a visual comparison of the size here it is to a contemporary aircraft, the Heinkel He.112B a Heller 1/72 kit. I say contemporary as they both first flew in 1935. Please feel free to ask questions, post comments, or add thoughts. Dennis
  2. Hi Comrades! Here is my Valom's Wellesley. Not a simple kit to build. Additions-resin engine, masks for canopies. All others - scratch built - 4 new small windows in the fuselage, wheel wells structure, interior details aft of pilots headrest etc. The build is here Hope, you like it!
  3. Hi comrades! My next build is Vickers Wellesley from start of WWII in Africa (from the boxart). The build will be OOB with some scratch additions. So far, I opened 4 windows in forward fuselage. Also I'm planning to enhance the wheel wells and the pilot headrest - those areas are oversimplified in the kit. So, any informative images will be of great help. Unfortunately, in the Warpaint book on Wellesley those areas are not described... Also, any building tips or known inaccuracies of the kit will be of great help. Thanks in advance ! Thanks for looking!
  4. Hi comrades! I'm started the build the Valom kit. I will try to add more details in the pilot headrest area and main undercarriage + wheel wells. Any informative photo or diagram will be helpful. I have the Warpaint book on Wellesley as reference. Unfortunately, no good detail on the desired areas(( Thanks in advance
  5. Hello everyone... Starting to do some research for a future build, a matchbox Wellesley. Now doing research i of course found Valom’s kit and builds. They offer a version of the kit labeled “Africa campaign” and show the plane in what appears to be De/Ms over black. Is the scheme accurate and are those the correct colors ? If not then what colors are correct, De/Dg over sky ? Any answers are gratefully received and i will give Thanks in advance. Dennis
  6. Hi, Vickers Wellesley - very strange airpalne in my feelings. It has short service in first line. Model is from original Matchbox kit, I made in about 10 years ago. The rear canopy is movable - during making photos it felt in down position... The k2673 served in 47th Squadron RAF, Chartum and Belaiga (Ethiopia) 1940-41. Please enjoy, comments welcome Cheers Jerzy-Wojtek
