I've kicked of my first Hasegawa Hornet. But no it won't be a RAAF one.
The plan is for a USN Adversary Aircraft from VFC-12 in the Splinter Camo. Should be a airbrushing challenge.
Here's everything I'm going to use. No resin cockpit which is something of a change for me. Just the Eduard PE set, which looks really good for some external and undercarriage detail, a Quickboost seat, some Rhinomodel intakes and the obligatory Royale Resin Wheels. Decals are from Fightertown, hopefully I won't have the issues with these I had on my F-14
Here are the Rhino models engine faces. Painted with Alclad Dark Aluminium and a black wash
The Rhino intakes weren't to difficult to fit. The instructions were excellent. Something a lot of other after market manufacturers could learn from (Aires I'm talking about you in particular)
A bit of sanding here, some grinding there and the first side was in .
Unlike the instructions, Rhino suggest you to fit the fuselage sides first. IMHO good idea even if you'r not using these intakes. I added a couple of plastic tabs for alignment purposes
