  1. Hello everyone. The Easter holiday has finally allowed me to get my teeth into some long overdue modelling. First up is the Type 42 Destroyer from Dragon models. As with most things, planning is everything. After a scan of the instructions and a dry fit of the major components, it became clear that the photoetch should be tackled first. The main reason for this is because at 1:700 scale you have so little room to work with that fitting railings underneath walkways would be near impossible. The railings under the flightdeck show just how difficult it would be to fit after the flightdeck is fitted. The join in the middle of the flightdeck has been filled and sanded down, the same needs to be done to the stern of the ship. John
  2. Pics of HMS Edinburgh on her last visit to Edinburgh before paying off. Pics thanks to Chris Hewitt.
  3. Hello guys, I want to show you another build of mine. It's HMS Gloucester a Type 42 destroyer. Manchester shot down a Silkworm missile which was aproaching a combined Fleet of US and british ships. I used the Revell kit of the Mancehster and modified it. I'm not so happy with the result. The color on the deck is very stripy and unsteady. The decals are a paint in the eye but they almost broke in the water. Witht he rest of the ship I'm pretty pleased. like the decals on the Fuselage. I used a brush to paint the ship and I also used thin spreu for the rigging. The Manchester was the reason why I start to build all british Type 42 now. Sheffield is almost done. But you better have a look with your own eye, herer are the pictures. And with HMS Sheffield during the Falkland war. YOu can see a big improvement on the Shef. It's the first time I used PE parts there. More ships are already laid down on Cook&Co.Ltd. greetings, The cookiemonster.
