  1. This is the Trumpeter kit which was not too bad. I was able to get the Black Box cockpit to work, well most of it. I Also added the Wolfpack Exhaust which was excellent. I also added XMM Intakes. those kind of gave me fits. I used Model Master paints and Caracal decals which were excellent. Thanks for looking!! Rod
  2. The NA Vigilante is a sleek looking machine. To the Trumpeter kit I added a resin cockpit from Aires and some seamless intakes. The decals are from the kit. Painted with Xtracolor enamels. No major problems encountered with assembly. Thanks for looking, Angelo
  3. Hi all, Here is my recently finished Trumpeter 1/48 MiG-21F-13. The decals are Begemot and the wheels are Eduard Brassin. The finish is Mr Color Silver/Steel/Gun Chrome. A full write up can be found at https://jonbryon.com/trumpeter-148-mikoyan-gurevich-mig-21f-13-fishbed-c/. Comments welcome Cheers Jon
  4. In my growing collection of FAA planes the Sea Fury is a must-have, of course. The Trumpy model is for sure one of the worst kits from this company in respect of accuracy and fit. A little bid of help comes from Flightpath. This correction set was designed for Hobbycraft, but fits nice to Trumpy as well. Additionally I used some Eduard for the cockpit and decals from Printscale. The Trumpy decals are useless in shape and colour, but the (good looking) Printscale had (nearly) ruined my model! The totally disintegrated in hunderts of pieces after contact with water :-(
  5. Here's my latest creation to roll off the workbench: Trumpeter's 1/48 MiG-15UTI Midget with Cold War Studio resin tail and rudder. The finish is Alclad II White Aluminium and the decals are homemade (numbers) and from the kit (stars). A very nice kit. Full story Here: www.jonbryon.com/MiG15UTI.html. Any comments/questions welcome. Jon
  6. Hi all, Three of these aircraft passed through Prestwick on there way to the USA for conversion. Looking at the state of them its hard to believe they made it, but they did. For me they are most likely the dirtiest Sabres i've seen and i've set out to represent one as best i could. there is better models of this aircraft out there, but i'm satisfied with it.... Brian.
  7. Gday All What a great GB for all us modellers of all things RAAF. I just had to join in and what better day to start than ANZAC day here in Australia where we remember all our dead from all conflicts past and ongoing that Australia has been involved in . Lest We Forget Onto my chosen kit. The Trumpeter 1/48 C-47A Dakota. Australia used C47B's not sure what the differences are yet, hopefully research will turn them up, anyway onto the required box and sprue shots and this last one shows the multi media parts included in the kit, those being rubber tyres, metal landing gear and some PE, also shown are the quick boost corrected rudder, some resin corrected cowlings and Voyager aerials I am awaiting some further Eduard sets from Hannants Regards Bruce
  8. Picked this up off eBay on a whim, the Sky & EDSG caught my eye which probably explains why I want a Gannet and a Sea Fury at some point! Mikes review can be found here - http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234931418-supermarine-attacker-f1-148-trumpeter/ Couple of things to note that I'd found out with a bit of research: The under-wing serials are too small & the tail planes are mounted too high or low, can't remember. The angle of the undercarriage is too pronounced as well I believe. I'm not going to correct either, doesn't bother me in the slightest! It'll be built without the underbelly fuel tank as well, I hate how it ruins the lines of the aircraft. The one thing I'd like to change is the ejector seat, the kit one looks too slab like.
  9. One of the next ones up for me is Trumpeters 1/48 F-100C built as a Turkish delight! Photo of the real thing with kind permission. Brian.
  10. Hi Everyone, Just thought I`d show you some pic`s of my Trumpy 1/48 Super Sabre, that I did a while ago Completed as an aircraft of the 614 TFS, `The Lucky Devils`, Phan Rang, Vietnam Which is an option in the kit decals OOB with a few improvements; lengthened the drop tanks, shortened the main gear a bit and some extra bombs from the spares box Got another in the stash which I want to do as a`Misty` FAC Hope you enjoy, Cheers Russ
  11. Here's my latest completed build. Third this year; must be on a roll. A good chunk of work was done on it back in 2010 though. It's Trumpeter's dog of kit of the Sukhoi Su-15TM Flagon-F. For full details and a long list of what I could find wrong with it, as well as more photos, go to http://www.jonbryon.com/Su15TM.html (text not finalised but good enough for the moment!). I added a Quickboost resin nose, resin fuselage air intakes (not the main intakes) and nose pitot. Wing pitot is brass tube and wire. Nose gear has been lengthened with sprue. Decals are from the first Begemot set. Paint is Alclad Duraluminum with some Aluminium panels; other colours are all Mr Color. Comments welcome. Jon
