  1. Hi, Alongside an F-15 I am building, I started work on Tanmodels RF-84 Thunderflash. So far a nice kit with quite some detail in the camera bay area. Did some work on the cockpit and Camera's and fuselage. Trying to figure out what scheme I will go for. I am thinking of either the Dutch metal or camouflage scheme. Or perhaps a Belgian Thunderflash? Well some way to go still.... The Belgian scheme does look cool. That's all for now,
  2. Hello, Here's my just finished 1/48 RF-84F. It's the Tanmodel kit, and I used Caracal Decals to do it as one from the 38th TRS, 10th TRW, based at Spangdahlem AB in West Germany between 1955 and 1958. This is part of a little project of mine to build all the different planes and units that were based at Spangdahlem at some point. This is the 5th build for that, after an F-4G, A-10A, F-15C and F-105F. The Tanmodel kit is a lovely model, in my opinion. The panel lines and rivets are a bit deep, and a little inconsistent, and the camera assembly in the nose is a bit tricky
  3. News just in from Tanmodel, a new tool Su-33 in 1.32, now this will be MASSIVE!
  4. Another finished group build entry, this time from the 60s NATO vs Warsaw Pact group build. Tanmodel 1/48 RF-84F Thunderflash OOB, Berna decals for an aircraft of ER 2/33 Savoie, Armee de l'Air, 1961. Quite liked the Tanmodel kit although there's room for improvement - some vague fit in places, in particular the camera parts inside the nose were fiddly and difficult to align properly, also the panel lines are inconsistent - some nice, sharp, fine detail in places, some soft detail that gets lost under paint in other places. thanks for looking Z
  5. Bayraktar TB2 Tactical UAS 1:24 Tanmodel The Bayraktar TB2 is a medium altitude long endurance unmanned aerial vehicle/unmanned combat air vehicle developed for the Turkish Armed Forces. They class it as a Tactical UAV in order that it is not seen as a competitor to the Turkish Aerospace Industries Anka UAV. The vehicle has been jointly developed by The Kale Group and Baykar Technologies. The UAV can fly up to 22,500 feet and loiter for more than 24 hours. In trails it reached a record 27,030 feet with a full payload. As well as sensors the unit can be armed with the
  6. Unusual subject of limited interest for non-Turkish modellers IMO. Tanmodel is to release a 1/24th Baykar Bayraktar TB2 MALE tactical UAV kit - ref.2906 Sources: https://www.facebook.com/tanmodel/posts/592451727609759 https://www.facebook.com/tanmodel/posts/596655163856082 https://www.facebook.com/288722731315995/photos/584041175117481/ V.P.
  7. It was in the announced projects (http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234967245-tanmodel-172-148-132-projects), now it's official, Tanmodel (http://www.tanmodel.com/index_en.html) has started the design from a new tool 1/72nd Blackburn Buccaneer S.2 kit - ref.1101. 8. Dear Forum Members, We have just finished to design Tanmodel’s first commercial model kit of Turkish Basic Trainer Aircraft HURKUS- A with close collaboration with TAI. We have officially licenced all our design components from TAI. Some benefits of our model kit: -Detailed cockpit parts, instrument panels and Martin-Baker Mk T16N seats -Recessed detonation cord details -Multi pose canopy, fowler flaps, ailerons, rudder parts -Detailed landing gears and whell bays -Perfectly scaled and detailed Hartzell HC-B5MA-3 propeller -Fine reccessed panel lines Our kit has 56 parts, estimated
  9. Any news on the Tanmodel Buccaneer? Wasn't it due out before the New Year? Dave
  10. I was looking over my Tanmodel 1/48 RF-84F kit, and was surprised by the "instrument panel" decals included in the kit. They are just a bunch of black "blobs", with no detail whatsoever. Has anybody used those decals? Are they upside down, like some other manufacturer's kit decals? http://www.detailandscale.com/scale_modeling_section/haagen_scale_model_reviews/D&S TanModel RF-84F Review/large/TanModel RF-84F_23.JPG Of course there is no aftermarket available for the kit, except for a few resin bits by AMS Resin. An Eduard color ZOOM set would be nice. Larry

  13. Tanmodel is working on 1/72nd and 1/32nd Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI) / Agusta-Westland T-129 ATAK helicopter kits - ref.? First the 1/72nd kit to be followed by the 1/32nd one. The TAI/Agusta-Westland T-129 is a twin-engine, tandem seat, multi-role, all-weather attack helicopter based on the Agusta A-129 Mangusta platform. We are going to put on market the PLATZ 1/72 T-33 kit with AC-14 code having engine details which you all know well but struggle to find especially in European markets under TANMODEL label with special box content. 15. Lockheed T-33 1:72 TanModel The T-33 is a jet trainer developed from the P-80 Shooting Star by Lockheed during the late-1940s. Initially intended as a trainer variant of the P-80 fighter aircraft, the T-33 was created by lengthening the fuselage of the P-80 by approximately three feet and adding a second cockpit. Over 7,000 T-33s were built in total, far outstripping production number of the original fighter aircraft. In total, over 30 nations have used the T-33, many of which were supplied via the US Foreign Military Assistance programme. As well as being one o
  16. Republic RF-84F Thunderflash 1:48 TanModel Version 2 We first reviewed this excellent new kit from Tan Model here back in January. The plastic in this version is almost identical, however the guys at Tanmodel have listened to feedback and made some changes from the original boxing. A new extensive decal sheet has been printed by Cartograf in Italy with input from Dutch Decal, Daco, Mr. Kim Zimmerman and Mr. Jens Jensen. Given the extensive glazing of the RF-84 Tanmodel has now added a masking set. In addition there have been minor corrections to a few parts and a re-polishing of the mo
  17. Dear forum members; Based on your wishes and feedbacks, we changed and improved the box content of our RF-84F kit, which we released to international market in January 2016. Therefore, new kit no. of our RF-84F is now 2201-1 and its barcode number is renewed. As TANMODEL, we put great importance to your feedbacks about all kits that we release. Plus, we are very glad to be in contact with you for our new projects. We strive to present the best for you, with support we receive from you. 19. Dear forum members; We are glad to share build stages of our 1/48 scale RF-84F kit - which is loved by modelers and first batch sold out in 20 days. 20. Republic RF-84F Thunderflash 1:48 TanModel The Republic F-84F was essentially a new aircraft, however due to budget issues it was promoted as a development of the straight winged F-84E. The original XF-96A was the last F-84E fitted with a swept wing but it was found that performance over the straight winged airframe was marginal at best. However at the time it was ordered into production with the hope that the J65 engine (a licence built Armstrong Siddeley Sapphire) would improve performance. Adoption of this engine saw the fuselage stretched vertically creating an oval cross section. Pr

Source: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234967246-148-republic-rf-84f-thunderflash-by-tanmodel-released/?p=2200681 Best candidate IMHO is the Sukhoi Su-17/-22M-4/UM-3 "Fitter". Several a/c preserved in the western museums, documents readily available in Central Europe, a lot of users, iconic end of Cold War a/c etc. To be followed. V.P.
  23. The Tanmodel team recently "laserized" the Turkish Aviation Museum world last surviving PZL P.24G. We can therefore suppose they've a "in project" kit from this rare bird. Considering there's already a 1/48th P.24 family by Mirage Hobby (ref.48104, 48105, 48107, 48108 - http://hsfeatures.com/features04/pzlp24bba_1.htm & http://kits.kitreview.com/pzlp24reviewmd_1.htm) I bet for a 1/72nd kit. To be followed. Source: https://www.facebook.com/tanmodel/photos/a.293378480850420.1073741830.288722731315995/362656183922649/?type=1&theater V.P.
