Hi All, Here is my latest build, a 1/48th Fw190 Dora (Tamiya) plus Aires detail set. Colouring was done with Gunze and Alclad for metallic. For washes I've used Tamiya Panel Line Accentor and Flory's Model wash, I can recommend the latter highly. Not much issues with the build except of the fact that the resin engine bulkhead was difficult to fit correctly. The painting scheme is one of four out of the box options. Hope you enjoy it! Cheers, Alex

Hi Gents, Checkertails clan !! famous MTO US Air Force unit ! Attached to the 15th AF The "heavy" part of US air forces in Italy , the 12th AF being the one of medium bombers .Thus main task of 325 th FG was to cover heavies of 15th AF ( mainly B-24 and some B-17 BG) by sweeps on axis airflieds and of course escort of bombers streams over south and east front of this theater of operation. Being as as read first fighter group to operate " shuttle trips" between Italy and USSR ( not quite sure of that any comments welcomed ) So I represent my P-47 with quite a "marker" for 325th FG P-47 , ie , big 150 Gallons Wing tanks. Use that was may be helped by vicinity of P-38's and P-61's around location (personnal feeling) Some misses , in my built , wings bomb racks should have been painted yellow at last front part ( I see color picture but too late 🤭 ) , and backward metal rod on wing tank.. will , may be, correct that in the future ..😁 Hope you'll like it and as usual comments welcome ! Ready for inspection is my 1:72 Tamyia Focke Wulf Fw190 D9 JV44. This is a straight from the box build, with the exception of the white stripes on the underside, which I masked and airbrushed. The kit went together with ease, and allowed me to experiment with my airbrushing techniques, to achieve the Luftwaffe camo patterns on the fuselage. It was a nice kit to build, and looks great with my other WWII warbirds. Thanks for looking.

My next build is Tamyia's 1:72 Focke Wulf Fw190 D9 JV44. This is part of Tamyia's warbird collection, and a kit I picked up in the sale at a fantastic toy and model shop on my holidays. The box contains one grey sprue, with a little detail, a pilot, and a small clear sprue. There are also 2 decal sheets, one mostly consisting of the white stripes for the distinctive underside of the aircraft. I plan to build this straight from the box, although I plan to paint the markings on the underside rather than use the decals (keeping my fingers crossed here🤞). I am opting for the Red 3 colour scheme (makes me think of the Red Arrows), as flown by Hptm.Waldemar Wubke. Time for a quick sprue wash, and the fun can begin!

With no less then three (3, tres, shlosha, f@@#$#@$) kits on hold for missing parts (Seafang, A-26B, Typhoon) I opted for something that should be a quick build. My stash is full (if building was a way to guarantee long life - I would be a true Raelian, but most of them require a skill level I still do not yet poses in order to fully create a good build). Finally picked this Tamiya F4f-4. Build should be simple to put together with most of the time spent painting. Also pulled a resin cockpit for the kit I picked off eBay for pennies. A small number of parts, good detail and some nice paint schemes - should bring the smile back

Hello fellas. Fellas. I have quick question. Finishing build of Avro Shackleton and to be honest, I do have some problems to find right colour or lets say, mix proper colour. Not using revell colours. And I just bought Tamyia XF-82 which is Ocean grey 2 (RAF). Will it be OK for that model?

#14/2017 And my dad finished another one, the first of some upcoming IIAF stuff. Used the "M" version of the great Tamiya kit. Wanted to use Tigerhead Decals, forget it. Except the tricolor decal for the rudder all other ones are undersized and the underwing numbers are missing too. My dad painted the rudder and the roundels. The latter ones didn´t come out perfect but look ok. They should even be slightly bigger but my dad had no bigger ring masks. Vallejo Metal Color Aluminium used for painting. After WW2 the Iranians received 50 (some sources say 60) F-47D-30 (some sources also say D-28) from the USA. They served from 1948 to 1959 and were replaced by the F-84 and F-86.

Ready for inspection is my McDonnell Douglas Harrier II. It was the first Tamiya kit I have attempted, and I was excited to compare it to my previous experiences with Airfix, Revell and Eduard. I found the kit went together smoothly, and very little filler or sanding was required. I opted to use Humbrol equivalent paints, as my local model shops don't stock Tamiya and finish it with a coat of Windsor and Newton matt varnish. It's not been one of my favourite builds, but I'm happy with the result.

There is my entry a Tamyia Mosquito B MK IV, I'm building out the box with some added extras. A CMK 4,000Ib cookie, verlinden control surface's and a set of montex masks for both canopy and markings. I shall build her as 109 Pathfinder Squadron.

I think a kit is not worth breaking down, I have given her only a few etchings by Eduard and RBF also from Eduard other photos in the spoiler

F4U-1 Corsair "Birdcage" Replacement Masks for Tamyia Kit Decals 1:32 Maketar These masks are direct replacements for the markings provided by Tamyia in the kit. In addition you get spare and additional code letters. A set of canopy masks are also included. The masks come on four main sheets for the markings and additional letters. They are available in either vinyl or yellow Kabuki tape. The advantage with the tape ones is that they are lower tack and much easier to reposition if you get things wrong. One word of note is that the small elements like nose and fuselage art are NOT included the modeller will need to use decals for those. There are no instructions but then they are not really needed. Recommended for those who don't like decals, or if you want the true painted on look for your large scale Corsair. Review sample courtesy of

Finally got to where i am happy with it and want to move on just a few wee things to do and fix a few mistakes(canopy needs replaced accidentally over sprayed it with clear coat) The upkeep bomb is wired up and SHOULD spin BUT its not ! :-( bit disapointing but as its inside not much i can do with other than rip it open . Would i do it again NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO lol,if you look at my WIP the wiring drove me mad and the leds needed replaced a few times till i was kindly pointed in the right direction (Needed a resistor ) I love the model but it kinda took me in a different direction more technical and truth be told not that enjoyale am wanting to go back to kits and just work on my ageing skills etc hope you enjoy , mick ,

Always had a fascination with the DO 335, one of the stranger aircraft to come out the war , but a personal favorite, am glad for the allies it didnt get any further than a few in service but it would have been hell of a interesting squardon if it made it to the war longer.Usual Tamyia top quality build quality ,please excuse the pictures taken from I phone for easy of up loading And a final one with my FW190D ,for size comparison .

Well since everyone else was doing one i felt left out ;-) actually me and me and my best mate are building the same(ish) kit he bought a straight forward tamyia lanc i bought the Dambusters version.will post as i go.Also fitted a "edwardo" dash kit so far so good here's some pictures , Ohh and just to add a bit more interest i decided to wire up the props with micro motors AND am going to wire up the "UP KEEP" Bomb to make it spin , it will either work out good or i will destroy a £100 kit lol Not sure if this will upset people but i decided to go with cockpit green even thou Tamyia say use "Panzer Grey" or Black Drilled out upkeep for pully and dowel, Now the more observant of you might have noticed i wired the batt and motors up BEFORE i hooked the wings and fuselage OOOOOOHPS have to cut n shut together
