My son, knowing my hobby, gave me this as a Father’s Day gift last month. It’s well outside my usual subjects, so it made for a refreshing change. I also learnt a lot along the way (thanks @Bullbasket @Milan Mynar @FrancisGL ). Finished with markings straight out of the box using brush painted Vallejo Model Air Sinai Grey for the main colour and a variety of washes to make it look a bit used, but not abused. Build thread can be found here: And a few photos in the bright sunshine.

My current builds on the bench are being shoved to one side for this. It’s Father’s Day here in Australia and my son, knowing my hobby, has given me this. I have zero knowledge about IDF armoured vehicles, so I will need to do a bit of digging. Any advice on the paint scheme (Tamiya suggests Desert Yellow XF-59, but I guess that may not be accurate) and how I should paint the tracks (are modern tank tracks like the ones from WW II, so a sort of grey-brown colour?) gratefully received! I’m going to take a stab at thinking a dusty look will look good on this as well.

Hi, This is a 1:35 model of the Sturmgeschutz III ausf G, a German assault gun. This is very old Tamiya KIT no. 35014 from the 70s. I made it as a movable model. The additional parts are - the Friulmodel tracks and idlers, couple of small accessories like grilles, towing cable, jerry cans, ammo boxes, supply carton box. WIP is here: The clip shows how does it run I invites you to see the rest of works on my site "about me"

Hi Guys, Hope you can help. I am planning my next build which will be the Tamiya Cromwell. I have not chosen the subject but it will be in the June-August 1944 period. Possibly around Villers-Bocage and preferably not those Cromwell's that suffered in the town. Last year I built a Hill 213 Tiger 1 so it is a nice match up. Question relates to the D-Deck. It looks a simple modification without using the Accurate Armour resin. There appears to be some bolt hole detail around the shortened middle hatches to be added and I am aware of the commander cupola possibly needing additional viewing ports. Too simple? What am I missing? Ray

Hi All, I have this in my stash (well, small pile of kits) and was going to build this before I started my Chinook (now complete). I've decided now would be a good time before I commence any GB's next year. I've seen a few fantastic builds in the RFI's (no pressure!!) but not in WIP (though could be wrong) I'm trying Flickr for the first time (instead of PhotoBucket) and it's a bit of a phaff to post pictures!! Any tips on making things easier?
