Hello everyone, just bought this kit Anything Good/Bad to report on it ? Anything I should be aware of ? Dennis -
Takom's 1/35th Leopard 1 A5 is a bit of a swine! The plans are confusing, parts being mis-numbered, or completely forgotten about, and the location of parts is a bit vague in places. The kit itself has a few issues, fit of some parts not quite as precise as the should be and for the bolts on the turret that hold the spaced armour have to be located using a small, vague diagram with no location marks at all on the turret itself! Apart from all that, it was a fun build! The kit features working torsion bar suspension and individual link tracks (to put two links together you need 5 bits!) The track build was time consuming, fiddly, but oddly therapeutic! I added a tarp over the rear basket using Milliput rolled thin, and I added a cam net to the barrel. Otherwise no other big changes to what's in the box. Tamiya acrylics were used for the colour scheme.
