G'Day all, tanks are rarely seen subjects on my bench, it's my second at all and the first in 5 years. I normally build planes but now and then i want to do something different. Starting point here was a picture depicting a deserted Mk.V in the last war days in Berlin of '45. I researched a bit and found out that there was a Mk.V which had been captured by the Germans in the Battle of Smolensk in 1941 which had been brought to Berlin and displayed since in Berlins ''Lustgarten'' a famous Square in Berlin, sitting there for 4 years caused a complete discolored & rusted state. My intention was to build it in all his bright transiency and rusted state. Though a bit out of my comfort zone i pretty much enjoyed this project and i'm quite happy with the result, in this sense i hope you like it..... Unfortunately all pics from the original release had gone so i insert the pics again, this time with a different pic host which hopefully works a bit more reliable... Kit: Takom Paints: Lifecolopr, Vallejo, Gunze Photos by Coco Hans ....and one on the Dark Side of the Moon ..........

While at the SCOTNATS the other week I picked up this kit and started building it during the quiet bits of the show. I know @Silenoz has already started another BLOG but that has stalled while he builds a Harrier. So a quick build for me while waiting for the sea base on my BYMS build to dry between coats of wool and water. Some clean up and a couple of weld seams to add before primer on the Sea Dart i will be going for the red training colour to make it stand out a bit more. Stay Safe beefy

Here is a big AA gun or at least one of the pair on the same mounting. This kit is a little more involved as there's lots of dry fitting, filling and sanding and the instructions leave one guessing lots of times. A different subject but one of these kits is more than enough.

Hi Pals, A small diorama with my last tank, a Takom Chieftain MK2, inspired by the kit's boxart and some photo of the real model. I add a link to the RTI, and another to the WIP, in case there is anyone interested in seeing more photos, with the model alone. Thanks for watch and comments. Cheers mates. 👍

This is my build of the Takom 1/35 FV432 Mk2/1. I have fitted the Scorpion Miniature Model resin kits, Mk1 Interior, Mk1 Exterior and Floatation device together with MasterClubs metal tracks. The FV432 is one of my favourite armoured vehicles and brings back memories from my childhood living in and around British Army garrisons in both UK & Germany during the 1960's & 1970's while my Dad was serving in 1st Battalion Royal Irish Fusiliers and then 1st Battalion Royal Irish Rangers.

Hallo again Well, this is my second interior kit. My lessons learned from my Bergepanther G is the following: Do not get lost in detail in your first session. Check out all parts, which make up the main body. Check the rear wall with sidewalls in the engine compartment. Here is one of the lousiest flaws! If the sidewalls do not properly fit with the rear bearing for the tension axle, the game is a horror. Check out, that the gluing surface really fits at the bottom of the sidewall. The intersection with the rear bulkhead is also a point of major conflict. So I tested all this with the upper hull and got a green signal. Well, it is a quite simple action ahead. Since I am used WingNut Wing kits like the Fe2b, so this interior kits are a challenge to do something different for a while, after almost 25 years of aircraft. See you again. Stay health. Happy modelling

Hi Pals, I have finished the model, along with its base. A well detailed OOB kit and easy to assemble, with the exception of the tracks, which are very laborious, although not particularly difficult. I added some small extra bit, such as the headlight wires, and the rearview mirror rods, and the strips of the barrel's thermal sleeve straps, as well as a pair of antennas. The only thing that could have focused better, is the behavior of the bogies of the undercarriage, when climbing the vehicle on the slope, although it is not too steep, and the solution was, or take off parts (too risky), or lay it flat on the terrain, but I prefer as it looks ... and that is that at first, I didn't think about making a base ... I wrote it down for a next occasion ... I have had a lot of work with the photos, because although I have the means to do them quite well, the backgrounds are a real headache to get them to have a pure color, either white or black. As far as I can tell, you have to do post-process, that is, some software to use (Photoshop). There are different series of photos, with different background color, different lighting, and different post-process. I include some photos of the real model that have inspired me, and to see how much I approached the real model. I will indicate a small comment in each series. The main thing for me, when making them, is that the color of the model does not change, and if it does, the minimum possible, because the one that has, for better or worse, is the one that I want to show. Thank you very much everyone for taking time to watch, comment and suggest improvements. Until the next model and Cheers.
