Over the last few months I’ve managed to get three shelf sitters over the finish line so thought I’d continue my efforts into 2020. I started building this one when my son was 2, he’s about to turn 10. It’s the AFV Club RF-5E which I’m painting up to represent a TUDM (Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia or Royal Malaysian Air Force) aircraft. I’ve taken the FS numbers supplied in the instructions and pulled them out of my gunze paint stocks. Compared to some reference photos that I have they are a pretty close match. It’s also the first time I’ve tried by hand at a freehand camouflage scheme. However, beforehand I did pencil in the line-work with some water colour pencils that you can see in some of the photos. The FOD covers are from Royale resin and hide the ‘gutless’ interior. (Never thought I’d use that phrase in model building). I’ve progressed the painting a bit further than what you see here, but the underside shows the colour combination well. Cheers, Mick

TUDM / Royal Malaysian Air Force Insignia & Codes No Scale - Puszer Aneh Productions They Royal Malaysian Air Force came into existence in 1956 and has had an eclectic mixture of aircraft on its books ever since. Where else can you see then F/A-18 and the MiG-29 flying in the same force? Like many of the worlds smaller Air Forces getting decals for the modeller can be difficult. A new company to the reviewer is Puszer Aneh Productions, and they have brought us a complete set of Insignia and codes for this Air Force. The decals arrive in four sheets. One of coloured insignia, two of black codes, and a final sheet of white codes. No scale is specified and given the many different sizes they will work for more than one specific scale. A small instruction sheet is supplied which gives a history of markings used, and a list of all the different aircraft used since 1956. There is no manufacuter listed on the decal sheet but they are all in register, well printed, colour dense, and with minimal carrier film. It should be noted that some of the smaller numbers are on continous carrier fill and will need to be cut out. To order the set is currently priced at US$20, with postage at cost, and payment via PayPal only at this time. To purchase, contact Shah Zain ([email protected]) or Brian Param ([email protected]). In conclusion these decals are a welcome set for the modeller of the smaller Air Forces of the world. Review sample thanks to Puszer Aneh Productions.
