After the success in weathering the m10, I felt why not weather (and repaint) some of the models I made when I was starting out. For now there are 3 models, the T 62, Stug IV and T34/76. I plan to start off with the T 62 and work forward.

Hi Pals, Here I present the finished model. I am quite happy to have dared to improve it (it could have been the opposite ... lol), it has not been very expensive and the additions have been very good. I think these oldies / cheap kits are a very good base to experiment, learn and improve hobby techniques and skills. On the one hand if it does not work out the way we wanted, the effort / expense is not "painful", although on the negative side, if it goes better than we expected at the beginning, the question remains "and if I had done this, or added this other , how would it have improved? ... " For this reason, I have some more model in the same circumstances, which I hope to improve (or otherwise, although I run the risk ...), now seeing them, I think I was not confident enough in my chances. As always, thank you very much for the comments and kind words that accompanied the assembly, and the interest shown. Here a link to WIP section for those who are interested, sorry a forget it... Well last orders come at 11:59 on Sunday night, so that should give me enough time to get this little one in to the gallery.... Theres only six assembly stages.... And one camo scheme, any colour as long as its green!!!! The bag full of bits.... This should be like a Saturday afternoon in days of yore. After a trip to Woolies during the Saturday morning shop with Mum and Dad i'd scurry off with a freshly purchased series 1 Airfix kit. I have a free day today (barring lunch and a couple of dog walks) so lets see if i can build it in a day.... Thnanks for looking, Cheers Greg

Hi All, Here's the Academy T-35/85 with Bedspring Armour. I see Academy kits getting a bit of a panning sometimes but this was great apart from the decals being too thick to sit down properly on the textured turret sides. As the tactical numbers were very rough I would have a go at hand painting them in the future. The PE was pretty good to work with and the tracks are simple link and length with sag built in. I used Vallejo model air then a ragbag of effects to make it as dusty as I thought it would be fighting in an urban area full of debris. My figure painting is not much cop at all as you can see. Usual comments and criticisms welcome. Cheers David

Hi, So this is my T-34/85. The story behind this model is the tank has been taking some heavy hits from ze Germans (seen by the deep gouges in the armour) and they were unfortunate enough hit a landmine, destroying the left track and leaving them stranded in the thick mud, leaving the crew no choice but to open the hatches and leg it. Ok so rather than Flooding the forum with a huge amount of new topics I'd just condense some of my favourite 1/16 models all done in the last 18 months. Theres a few more to come still!!! Yep Hobby Boss got the shrink ray on Trumpeter's 1/16 T34/76 and in a few versions too. Here winter's bone and I am starting the year in green with this amazinginly detailed kit, with some truly small parts. My biggest gripe with the kit is despite the clear instructions and lovely painting guide sheet the instructions for painting details in and around the tank are too few. While the detail in these 1/48 kits is funtastic, I have to say I think I'm still more of a fan of vehicules in 1/76 and kits with figures and interiors in 1/35. Let's see if I can get this one to a decent standard.

Hi folks,I thought as a change from Aircraft I would have a second go at a 1/35 tank,I remember building an Airfix T-34 from the old poly bag era to rampage over the Russian steppes(Mam's fireside rug) when a youngster along with their Russian infantry! I don't have the kit yet but my LMS always has it in stock and we have the Northern show coming up so I,ll pick it up in the next week or two,I don,t plan to start till the Phantom and Mitchell are finished anyway and may not start till after my holidays. Hi there. This is my first tank build attempt. I have to say that the UM kit was a nice surprise, even for this small scale. Quite nice detail...good fit...even for those damned tracks... I built it with no extra's...I only made some small improvements. I made it very dirty indeed. Maybe too dirty. My modelling experience is still very limited, and it was my intention from the beginning to use this build in order to try and experience with various weathering techniques...with various degrees of succes, that is However, this is the final result. It looks to me that something is wrong with the color of the spare tracks mounted on the sides of the hull...think I will cover that rust pigment (especially near the spare tracks) with some dirt pigment or something...
