  1. Hello guys, it's been a while since I posted anything on the forum. This is my latest Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc. It's the 1:48 Revell rebox of the Hasegawa kit. The build was uneventful, but the decals took a long time to move from the backing paper (does anyone know if leaving the decal on the wet paper for some time makes it easier to move later?)
  2. Hot on the heels of the MkI Blenheim RFI, is the belated Mk.I Spitfire that preceded it on the workbench, finished 6 months ago. Today's soft overcast light was ideal again, and all the tools I'd used for the Blenheim shoot were still handy. This conversion was mainly based on the 2010 mould of the 1:48 Mk.I Spitfire that I picked up cheap-ish second hand. (I was told the Mk.V Spit makes a better candidate for this conversion) The transfers were the Xtradecal ones. Again, this recent Airfix kit went together easily, great for a relative newbie to the hobby to cut
  3. Finished today: And the three Strike Witches themed aircraft. I have a fourth one, and three more should arrive to my stash in the near future.
  4. Airfix have now released the long awaited new tooled modelkit of the Supermarine Spitfire FR Mk.XIV in 1/48 scale as well as two new D-Day Quick Build kits, featuring a Spitfire & P51-D Mustang. https://www.wonderlandmodels.com/blog/article/new-148-airfix-supermarine-spitfire-fr-kit-2019/
  5. Finally I got around to take photos of my most recent compeleted model. I decided to build the model from the 19th Fighter Squadron mainly because I wanted to keep the yellow outlined roundels in my spares box.
  6. Here's another completion to celebrate getting my access back through my AT&T device. It's the the old tool Airfix Spitfire Mk.I finished as an aircraft from 66 Sqn at RAF Upwood in 1939. The two blade prop was snagged from the new Mk.I kit as it was going spare anyway. The decals are from a Kits at War sheet. I think the aircraft should have the early unarmoured windscreen, but I can live with the discrepancy. This is one of the few models I've ever painted twice; the first time I painted it, the clear gloss coat crazed all over the bottom of the model. So I stripped it down and start
  7. We have 3 new releases from Airfix in stock now at Wonderland Models . First up is the 1/48 Supermarine Spitfire F.22/24 It has marking options for 607(County of Durham) Squadron Royal Auxiliary Air Force or the Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force. Another welcome re-release is the 1/72 English Electric Lightning F.6 kit The has options for an aircraft of 56 Squadron in natural metal finish in 1974 or a 5 Squadron machine in the low-visibility grey camouflage. Finally the Vampire T.11 kit has been re-released with options for a CFS airc
  8. https://www.flickr.com/gp/149247612@N04/CV2mz3 Finally found time to upload my 1:72 Airfix Dogfight Double, only the 3rd kit I've attempted, trying out some simple weathering techniques, and I'm quite pleased with the end product. It has been a learning curve, I enjoyed the little bit of info on the build instructions about the pilots and the aircraft. All in all it was a pleasant build, any feedback is welcome.
