  1. IBG is releasing Trumpeter's Su-27P in Ukrainian Air Force scheme similar to their MiG-29C and UB boxes. https://m.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=310547934918758&set=a.185541010752785&type=3
  2. Thought these might be worth showing given current news/events.
  3. Hi all, Here are some pictures of my another Flanker project "Su-27FSM (No:731) - Flankerstein", a "what if" build in 1/72 scale using Revell/Zvezda/Italeri kit rest parts in my junkyard. I did a lot of modifications in this build. Also the decals are custom printed with ALPS MD-5500. The color scheme is very eye catching to me and I am very satisfied having such unique aircraft in my collection. I hope you will like too. 🙂 The entire build report is here (which took around three years to complete): Thank you for looking and I wish you and yours happy and healthy new year. Serkan
  4. After its Su-35S "Flanker-E" (link) Great Wall Hobby (GWH) is to release a 1/72nd Sukhoi Su-27 "Flanker" family. Source: http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index.php?/topic/319406-great-wall-hobby-gwh-l4830-148-su-30sm-“flanker-h”-multi-role-fighter/&do=findComment&comment=3063658 Merry Christmas! Very soon I believe. The 1/72 scale MiG-29 3 variants are already under mold cutting(we already revised errors in the original 1/48 ver.), and 1/72 Su-27 will follow next. Happy holidays. Yufei Mao V.P.
  5. Hi everyone, this is my latest finish.simply oob.great wall's kit is very nice with great detail and above 600 decals.
  6. I haven't posted anything in this section for a while but I've decided that this is about to change. Brand new GWH kit of the Su-27UB in 1:48 and from my initial inspection, I am quite certain you can make it into outstanding looking model without use of any aftermarket products. Progress is slow as I have a bunch of exams at work in the near future and parenting and other hobbies take a toll, but still, I am gaining momentum with this build nevertheless. First completed piece is front gear well - I am doing an early version of the UB so I've chosen the open bay with all the piping and structure visible but GWH provides a closed well for later versions as well.
  7. Since long time I was looking for a resin conversion set to build Su-27M series and Su-35UB (which was a movie star of "Mirror Wars: Reflection One") and finally I found a set with Academy Flanker kit included in ebay... Both the kit and conversion set were in top condition and I was really happy what I got for 60€: For this twin seater conversion I will use one of my MHM kit waiting in basement for several years. It won't hurt much if I ruin the kit after such massive butchery... Serkan
  8. In 2017 the Flanker returned to RIAT. With 58 Blue the Ukrainians gave the spectators an absolutely amazing display of this legend from the Cold War. The kit is the Eduard Su-27B Flanker Limited Edition, with a load of extra resin. The digital camouflage was applied with use of the Begemot masks. Not an easy thing to do and with lots of touch-ups. The build started late 2017, so it took me about 2,5 years to finish this beast.
  9. Hello fellow modellers, I want to acquire the 1/32 Trumpeter Su-27B single seater for a build I want to do. However, I am aware of most of the errors (intakes etc.) on the kit that were corrected on later two seat versions released by Trumpeter. Can anybody here tell me if Trumpeter actually released the single seater with the corrected parts at any stage. It makes sense that, given the fact that they made new molds, these parts could have been included in later boxings of the single seater. If so, how would I know if it has (kit number maybe?). Thank you in advance Regards Victor
  10. Here is an another Flanker restoration project. I had a partially built Italeri Flanker which I got as a part of auction. Although this model has a lot of known shape issues (incorrect air intakes, too big canopy, very fat radome etc...) still I decieded to give it a chance (at least to test camo pattern templates and custom made decal). Serkan
  11. Hi All, This post will have several first's in it for me. This is the first time I have completed a Zvezda kit and the first time I've used Vallejo model air paint. I thought this would make it an ideal model to be the first I share on a forum. The kit went together nicely with no major modification or extra parts used. I am however a little less happy with the Vallejo paint. I wanted to try them since they now offer a range of colours that match various flanker schemes nicely. I found however that they were harder to airbrush and get the thinning right. Often, they would feel slightly rubbery after drying. I thinned them very slightly with tap water which may have been the problem but if anyone else has experienced this or has any other tips on using Vallejo model air they would be greatly appreciated. What do you think of the finished model and do you have any tips on how it could be improved? (please excuse any subpar photography) Thanks br60066
  12. As I am currently on summer vacation till beginning of August I have no chance to progress on my currently ongoing builds. But hence I have my notebook with me I can still make some brainstorming for my future projects. 🙂 I have some deformed airframe parts from T-10M conversions due to wrong heat treatment process of self casted resin parts in oven. I have decided to use them for Su-27LL conversion which looks also very distinguished with her blue/gray paint scheme. I have made 3 view drawings based on available pictures in internet. But I could not found any reference pictures of real aircraft which show top and bottom surfaces. The only material I have is the instruction sheet from Begemot Decals. But still I have some doubts especially for upper surface. Here are my drawings with available data I have: I would like to build the aircraft displayed in 2013 MAKS. Any feedback/comments about the above drawings will be highly appreciated. Serkan
  13. Here is another Flanker project I have launched recently. If you follow my other topics that I have started in this forum, you may ask why I am launching a new one before completing existing ones. Each of these projects has some specific issues to be solved to continue (mostly based on casted parts with aged bleeding resin which was my fault not to check it's shelf life) and therefore they have to wait until the problem does not exist anymore. I hope it will not last too long 🙂 Here the aim is to build Su-30MK No:603 using Heller Su-27UB kit with minimum modifications (we will see 🙂 ) I have already made 3 view drawings of Su-30MK No:603 as given below: The next step will be to map camo onto model. Serkan
  14. Hello all, Here is another Flanker "what-if" project I would like to share with you. After casting the front upper and lower halves of Su-27IB modification, a funny "what if" project came into my mind: Su-27KIB/Su-33IB!... A little update to original post: Су-27КИБ/Су-33ИБ "корабельный истребитель-бомбардировщик" Su-27KIB/Su-33IB "Korabyelny Istrebityel Bombardirovshchik" - "Shipborne Fighter Bomber" The idea is to combine Su-27IB nose with Su-33 rest parts left from T-10M conversion butchery: The casted Su-27IB parts seem to fit Su-33 rear fuselage halves without having big issues: To be continued 🙂 Serkan
  15. While I was sorting out the kit rest and spare parts left from massive kit butchery for various Flanker conversions reported in my other topics here, I have realized that I can build my own Flanker version by combining these parts. It will be a kind of creating a Frankenstein, therefore I have called this project as "Flankerstein". I hope you will like it. Serkan
  16. Finally Sukhoi - 27 is done. This is Su-27 in Vietnamese Air Force Scheme. Here is my photos The color is is a little tricky, i have to mix 3 shade of blue and small amount of white to get the result. And this is my 2nd attempt with exhaust stain painting and i spend way more time on the exhaust than the color itself , i'm using clear blue, brown, red over silver to achieve the burning metal and tone down with gun metal I have upload a video i'm painting this kit in my channel, link is in my signature , you guys can check it out.
  17. Hi guys; I finished this Zvezda 1/72 last December. I used Mig acrylics and Eduard PE set. I really liked this kit, but I had difficulties with Mig paints. Here some photos: Cheers;
  18. Su-27S/SK/UB Flankers (72-050 & 48-022) 1:48 & 1:72 Hi-Decal Line There are quite a few Su-27 Flankers models out there, however the decal options in the kits tend to be pretty standard. If you want something a little different the Hi-Decal have a sheet out in 1/72 & 1/48. The options on the sheet are; Su-27S Flanker B "1953" 1st Fighter Sqn, Ethiopian Air Force with kill marking 2010 Su-27S Flanker B "608" 6th Fighter Squadron Eritrean Air Force 2005 Su-27S Flanker B "C110" 13th Fighter Squadron Angolan Air Force 2006 Su-27 SK Flanker B "TS-2701" 11th Fighter Squadron, Indonesian Air Force 2003; Su-27UB Flanker C "I 100" 13th Fighter Squadron Angolan Air Force 200 The sheets provide all the national markings as well as stencils for each option. Registration, sharpness and colour density are all good, with a thin gloss carrier film cut close to the printed areas. Recommended for your next Flanker build if you like a little something different to the kit options. Review sample courtesy of
  19. Rumour: Great Wall Hobby (GWH) is reported working on a 1/48th Sukhoi Su-27 "Flanker" family. Source Yufei Mao aka Haneto facebook: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=530620570788306&set=a.243061249544241&type=3&theater Wait and see. V.P.

  21. This was a stash clearer, using my Italeri and Monogram kits up to feel better about buying the Tamiyas, AMK.... I've always liked this scheme, there's only a handful of photos that I could find including some flying and I have no idea how long the scheme was used. The Italeri fuselage was the base with a lot of the Monogram parts such as landing gear, vertical stabilizers, cockpit details. Aires wheels, Quickboost seats and pitot. Decals are from Two Bobs and Fightertown. Both had good references and Two Bobs has notes from the fellow who came up with the scheme. Colors were Light grey, ghost grey and medium grey and an off white.
  22. The title says it all. Linden Hill Decals has released again its beatiful 1:48 Arctic Flanker sheet, this time sized for the new Hobby Boss kit. Hobby Boss has released two 1:48 Flankers, early and late. Which of these two I have to pick for an accurate "Arctic" Flanker ? Best,
  23. Hi all,This is brought about by a SU-27 airport scene, showing the ice and snow began to melt under SU-27, and it’s also the first Russianaircraft to try.Because the hatch connection of HobbyBoss is so terrible ,I consider my canvas cover up, canvas using the recommended method to a friendZhong, who interested can find his tutorials. The scene platform also get lots of proposal of many friends, thanks a lot!

  25. There are two new versions of discontinued sets. RC4823 instead of RC4817 New PE set PE4820 Su27/30 louvres and meshes intended for these two types only. There will be separate sets for Su-33 and Su-35S versions.
