Seeing how great @Ray S's Stringbag looked in silver I had to toss in a Special Hobby Blackburn Skua Mk.II Early. I'll try to do it as it looked while assigned to 803 Sq. H.M.S. Ark Royal in 1939. Let's see what I've gots in the box, or bag as it were... Who knows If I manage to get this built I may just do the Blackburn Roc I have too... but before I get ahead of myself, I'll finish this first..- 26 replies

Well, the Hellcat is on hold at present waiting for a replacement part to arrive from Eduard. So no time like the present to start another build. Here we go with the Special Hobby Supermarine Seafire Mk.III as used by the No. 3 Air Spotting Wing at RNAS Lee-on-Solent in June 1944 for Naval Gunnery Spotting for the Allied Fleet off the Normandy Coast. It will mostly be build out of the box, I may purchase a set of masks and some new exhaust stacks and maybe a pilot for it. After much searching storage I finally found a real treat, Hopefully. . Along with several other models I didn't even know I had, so today has been like Christmas day.I see alot of nice builds in the Main WIP for next year. But for now, something completely different. Special Hobby's 1/48 Fiat Br.20 Cicogna. For some reason I've managed to misplaced the instructions, but no matter, I downloaded a replacement set from Scalemates. Of course being a Special Hobby Kit I'll have to "modify" it some. Who know, with everything going on with all the GB's I might actually be able to get this little bird done. So, Avanti nella nebbia!

Hello mates, this is my latest built. The IMAM Ro.37 A.30 was a two-seater Italian reconnaissance , a product of the Industrie Meccaniche Aeronautiche Meridionali (IMAM) company. Powered by the FIAT A.30 RA, a 600-hp, liquid-cooled V-12, the Ro.37 could reach a top speed of 199 mph (332 kph) at 13,120 ft (4037 m), could land at 67 mph (112 kph), and had a service ceiling of 21,976 ft (6762 m). The kit is the Special Hobby Ro.37 1/48 and is finished in a medium quality, grey soft plastic with recessed panel lines with a low level of detail. The kit contains a set of photo etched parts, resin parts and a high quality decal sheet. Overall a well engineered kit with some difficult to assemble. You know when you have plans for a kit, extra detail here, change that there, wait for extra details....... Before you know it its some months/years down the line and nothing has moved with that kit. Rather than let this languish in the pile of unfinished kits, I finished it as is. In the end I just replaced the drain pipes that come with the kit to represent the machine guns with resin ones from Quickboost (good job there was 8 in the pack, I lost 3 after not watching what I was doing and broke them all off. Three are still at large somewhere). I also lowered the (insert name of thing that goes up and down to move out of the way of the guns as they swing past) at the back. Otherwise pretty much as it came in the box including the decals. I'm not happy with the fuel spill stains, but I am happy it was finally finished. Now all I need now is its twin the Defiant to complete the set. Tim -
Hello ! The project on the workbench. rather ugly plane, but it is learning me some new (or forgotten tips...). Good short run BTW even if the canopy fits very poorly and the plastic, rather soft, is fragile... The comment in the pics are in french, i hope you don't mind and if you have any question, just let me know, that's why I'm sharing. I should start with painting today... Cheers, AE
