  1. I picked this kit up last year but upon opening the box was a bit disappointed. I found to be much simpler than I was expecting, more akin to a scaled up 1/24 kit. Anyways, in looking to distract myself from the pair of B-25s lingering on my bench I decided to give it a whirl. One of the first things I noticed when I opened the box is that the kit uses stickers instead any decals for the various markings as well as the IP. Starting with the engine and front drivetrain, I noticed a fair bit of flash as well as odd marks in the mouldings. There's this odd bend moulded into the driveshaft which if it was 1/1, wouldn't work very well. I'm thinking I may swap it out. That's it for the moment. Carl
  2. Here is my entry for the GB, I have had this in the pile for a few years now and I think that I should take this opportunity to put it together. The yellow paint could be fun to do, I just hope that I can get a nice dense even colour. I may even be tempted to splash out on some Authentic Airlines windows for this one. 3. Thought I had posted this build up, but somewhere I got sidetracked and never posted it, so here it is. My third built car kit. Comments are welcomed, I would do things differently, for example clear coating and what not, but pleased overall with the outcome. Cheers for looking. Coops
  4. Not posted up the fair bit of this build I'm afraid. I have a few pics back home on the PC but I guess what have will have to do. Well I built up a few of the parts like the shell before spraying, and the most I did separately. First up the windscreen and rear screen come as a single piece, and there are no door windows in this kit. The out front oil cooler, just missing hoses The headlights and intercooler The door cards which attach to the inside of the shell The dash, I'm fairly happy with, and as it will be hard to see I guess I can live with a less than perfect paint job. (Need to get the steering wheel centre cap finished) the interior all up together, and roll cage fitted the exterior, I chose to go with a Halfords rattle can, with the Ford Focus green for this build. I think it will work well (fingers crossed) Thanks for looking in and fingers crossed this should come together fairly soon. I welcome any comments. Coops
  5. This was purchased at Telford last November, basic build was quite quick ( no real issues) and final painting + decals in June / July. Two thinned brush-painted coats of Daco WP blue for the fuselage, my own mix of Mr Hobby grey / white for the wings and decals for the leading edges and coroguard. Authentic Airliner decals for the cockpit but not for fuselage as their spacing is slightly out from the Daco window deacls. and alongside another from the WP fleet which will be "Crested Butte" - unfortunately the purple paint has gone very gritty, so will probably have to wait until after Telford this year to get another tin of paint The fuselage decals are VERY large - recommended to use Daco's own setting solution but only had Microsol/set so a few wrinkles!!
  6. Kit manufacturer: Tamiya Scale: 1/24 Type: Calsonic Skyline GTR Extras used: bonnet pins Paints and colours used: Zero paints, Tamiya and Vallejo metal Started this way back in may last year. I actually finished it in November and it was on the Flory stand at Telford. Only just got round to taking some decent pictures. Next up will be my Days of thunder cars!
  7. This was this year's first build. I did start paint the body in the autumn of last year though. The kit is the recent street custom release of Tamiya's great KPGC10 skyline GT-R. The steel wheels in the original release are massively oversized lol. The paint is Ford Signal green from Halfords, and is a great come and get me colour. I've used this paint again on my current Charger build as it is just suited to Mopar muscle lol. The Watanabe wheels are Revell Anthracite. Anyway Pics ahoy: And some WIP pics: [ TTFN Ashley.
  8. These were built about 4 years ago and the Calsonic was my first ever car build. All are Tamiya 1:24.
  9. This is my first post and a recently completed Tamiya Nissan Pennzoil GT-R. I know it's a little rough around the edges and do want to put some panel lines in soon for emphasis. IMG_20140510_125629_zpsu0hcwtb1.jpg.html][/url]
  10. I notice that the Skyline 737s are listed as Future Releases on Hannants - with airline decals this time. Any idea on timescales? http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/index.php?adv=1&product_category_id=103&product_division_id=&manufacturer_id=8206&product_type_id=all_aircraft_kits&code=&scale_id=957&keyword_search=&setPerPage=100&sort=0&search_direction=asc&save_search_name=&save_search= Also, is the A300 the Airfix tooling? Thanks, Andrew
