  1. Hello Everyone, This is the project I decided upon for the Lesser Built Air-Forces GB I did actually finish my projects on time (just) but being the lazy bugger I am, I have only just taken the pictures of it. I would like to thank Cliff C, Col. & Robvulcan for hosting the GB they did a fantastic job and of course Mish who puts a lot of her free time into the running of the GB's in general. I will buy you all a beer if I ever meet you The project I decided upon was a Gate Guardian of sorts for the Royal Saudi Air Force and the aircraft is based on a round about at RSAF Tabuk (if you click here it should take you to it's location in Google Earth). As far as I have found, there is only about 8 pictures of this actual aircraft. I did not get the correct serial codes for the aircraft, that will be done in due course. But I am calling her complete for the time being. Onto the pictures The SNEB (is that the correct term?) pods where taken from the Revell 1/144 Hawker Hunter kit and I scratch built the plyon myself. The base is quite literally a 5 minute job, with some acrylic stolen... *borrowed* from work. Let me know what you think. Kind Regards, Dazz
  2. Here is my entry in my first group build for ages. Its the Airfix Saab Draken, surpassed by the lovely Hasegawa kit but by no means terrible. For the build, I'm planning on a light re-scribe. I'm not going mad, probably just a few of the more important panels, the Draken is a pretty smooth aircraft. Along the way I'll be referring to (and maybe building alongside at a slower pace) the excellent Hasegawa Draken from a Revell box. It may also donate a few bits that can be spared like the nicer seat and such. I can get a cheap resin one for the Hase kit. Here's the sprues, no box it came unboxed Its date of birth, though probably not this one Markings wise, I have a few options. The kit OOB option above, maybe one from the Revell sheet or these that came with the kits when I bought them. A simple scheme that I can do with spray cans. What do you guys think? I've never used Maestro Models decals before, anybody got experience on how they behave I'm itching to start this Cheers Chris
  3. Here is my Airfix 1/48 Canberra PR9 After building this one all I can say is I am glad it was cheap... The cockpit/nose area was a nightmare, the instructions were somewhat vague for many of the version specific bits and pieces and the illustration for the decals, while lovely, was a bit confusing. The decal sheet was a bit confusing too... Most unhelpful was that the panel lines on the aeroplane bore no relation to those on the picture so there was a modicum of guesswork and judgement involved. Ultimately quite happy with how it turned out though.
