  1. Well, the Hellcat is on hold at present waiting for a replacement part to arrive from Eduard. So no time like the present to start another build. Here we go with the Special Hobby Supermarine Seafire Mk.III as used by the No. 3 Air Spotting Wing at RNAS Lee-on-Solent in June 1944 for Naval Gunnery Spotting for the Allied Fleet off the Normandy Coast. It will mostly be build out of the box, I may purchase a set of masks and some new exhaust stacks and maybe a pilot for it. Here's the obligatory photos of the box and sprues. 🙂 Thanks for looking Regards Matt
  2. Special Hobby 1/48 Seafire mk III. Not a bad kit. Mig primer Citadel Loren Forrest and straken green blended topcoat. Tamiya thinner good for this paint brand. Came out a bit darker than I wanted, but that's the way it came out after gloss coat. Future Clear gloss. Mostly OOB decals except squadron badge, which is max decals. Prop stencils salvaged from older builds. Oil wash etc. Made a few mistakes, messed up a few decals but still happy enough with the result. Part of building up an Irish collection - and a Spit is a Spit
  3. Hi Finishing presenting my Spitfires - after posts on Mk I, HF Mk VII (with later added set of photos of Mk IX) and Mk 21 (with Mk XII) - I want to show to far East machines from end of WWII. ON BM there are plenty of much better done models of Spitfires. I know it. But anyway.... First is Seafire MK III from HMS Implacable, August 1945, 880 NAS (pilot - Lt. Cdr R.M. Crosley), This is a Airfix 1/72 Seafire with some modifications (addition) from scratch. Second is LF FR Mk XIV from 611 Sq. RAF SEAC, July 1945. The model is converted from Mk XVIII by MPM (early, short run technology). That one I made in 1996. Any comments welcomed Regards Jerzy-Wojtek
