Hi, I'm sorry if you followed my build for this one as most of these are the same photos! This was my second AFV build having learned a lot from my first and it seemed a really interesting subject. It's a straight out of the box build with no additional parts (except for some Eureka cable) and have been really impressed with the quality of the RFM kits. The figures are a mixture of Tamiya and Zvezda and I'm not sure that figure painting is my strong point, but I'm happy with the overall finished diorama. Will learn for next time! So, one Panzer IV, well battle-worn and then shown in place on the winter diorama, with just some melting snow to complete the picture. Thanks for viewing.

For some reason, I have found myself building two SdKfz 234/2 "Puma" Armored Cars in tandem. I just got the RFM version and have had the Dragon kit in the stash for almost 20 years. Time to build. The kits are VERY similar in construction breakdown. Both kits are excellent with the RFM kit being molded a little bit more precisely and finely perhaps.

I’m making RFM’s Vc Firefly and I’ve had to pause early because of so many unexplained optional parts. With the help of the usual websites and a couple of books, I’ve trimmed a very long list down to the following questions: - Which track type does the kit represent? I can’t narrow it down precisely. - Tow bar: Is it really correct to fit the mounting brackets for both types? Which bar is most common? - Two styles of cover on the machine gun port — low with a wide top, or higher and narrower. - Gun travel lock: Should it be mounted centrally or offset? On the engine cover or on the smaller panel behind it (as in official sketches)? The manual shows two positions, but I found at least three in photos. - Four options for MG supports on the commander’s hatch — see photo below. - Two types of searchlight — one possibly representing a shroud. - A step, about 2mm deep, runs around the base of the turret from either side of the mantlet. Should this be fixed? I can't see it in photos or on other kits. - If the sunshield rail brackets are omitted, should their mounting points (D24) be omitted, too? If you know of any clear photos of vehicles which can be built with this kit, please share them if you can. I’m struggling for inspiration with this one. I’ve mostly found very low-res photos, often showing some feature which the kit doesn’t have, e.g. different tracks, track-link armour, etc. Instructions can be viewed at https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/9/3/2/1253932-20-instructions.pdf

Hi all, I will be starting a Spz Puma from Rye Field Model (in case anyone is wondering "Spz" is basically the German equivilant to "Infantry Fighting Vehicle" or IFV for short). I will be doing a NATO Very High Readiness Joint Task Force (a.k.a. VJTF) version of the puma. This configuration is very new, in fact the last of only 40 VJTF Pumas was delivered to the Bundeswehr less than a couple months ago. The solders will be training with in in 2022 before all 40 vehicles are stationed on the east European border in 2023 when Germany takes the leadership of the VJTF Task Force. Aside from a couple structual changes, the major differences to the original Puma is the rocket launcher on the side of the turret as well as the cameras placed all around the hull for the 360° Vision Enhancement System. The 1/35 scale kit from Rye is from 2019 and very well detailed and all the pieces have an excellent fit. I also puchased the photoetch set from Voyager Models to give it that added bit of detail. I am not yet quite sure where I am going to go with this, but I do intend to add LEDs and maybe some moving parts. Depending on how much space I require for the last I may even attempt to scratchbuild the interior. I will not be doing an "in the field" look as in the picture above, instead I will be doing a slightly weathered clean but dusty... after all I want to be able to see all the details when I am done. So now I will come to my own personal disclaimer... This is actually my very first tank. Up until now I have done exclusively sci-fi models, so please go gentle on me. That is all for now, in my nexts posts I will put some pictures up of the kit and the add-ons and some of the work that I have already done. As always, thanks for tuning in.

Tiger I 1/35, straight out of the box, except the ropes, they are from something office copy machine. Impression from the model,... it's my first and last model from this manufacturer. Very soft plastic, a lot of pin marks even on a small detail, but nevertheless fitting are ok in general. Thank you for looking, and by the way it's my first attempt to make a tank model,... so any comments are wellcome.

Does anyone know where to buy a Rye Field Model Tiger 1 from in the UK or EU? None of the sites I have checked show any for sale.
