Heyyyyyy cool people🙂, so the clueless new member's first project is going to be a Russian T-55 1/48 from Tamiya. Ok, I had to start from somewhere so I did a little bit of research about tank number 826, so I can have some reference photos for building and painting later. Turns out a tank like this didn't exist??? There's a person on this forum who has done very detailed research about this specific tank but it seems what he could find is mostly written. Do you know what this means? Total artistic license which also means that I want to make it as if it has seen some action in a muddy environment like on the box art. Even though I won't be making a historically inaccurate tank I still want to be like the real deal. The thing is there are pictures showing different details on the base model T-55. Like the 2 elongated noles on each side of the main gun. One looks like a viewport and the other is sometimes empty. Sometimes looks like it has a machine gun inside and on other photos I have seen whole anti-air sort of attachments, so it's confusing. I mean I know that as just a modeller who replicates what he sees it's never going to be 100% historically accurate but you know if I make it like 90-95% there I will be able to sleep better at night😆.

Hi everyone This is my 1/72 AN-12BK-PPs by Roden. This is one of the most challenging kits I have made, due to the bad fit and quality of parts. The inside was well detailed but is difficult to see through the small windows. I had to fit in about a hundred grams of weight to stop it tail sitting. The panel lines were either deep or so shallow you could barley see them. I had to do a lot of sanding and filling between were the fuselage parts and the tail where attached. I painted it in Mig-0208 Dark compass ghost grey. The decals did not conform well even after having micro sol applied many times and a few of them tore when being positioned. In the end I had to pull a cocktail stick along the decals to make them conformed. Thanks for looking

Finished this one today for a group build over on another forum, based around the Lend Lease program. What ive built is the Airfix Hurricane IIc kit but ive used the 3d Kits conversion to convert it in to a IID. Ive also used AML decals to do a nice russain scheme for the model. The kit itself is a lovely kit and just falls together, the only big down side is the small prop. The 3d Kits conversion is nice simple to use and is nicely detailed, i would well recommend it to anyone. The AML decals were lovely to use to. I used humbrol and revell paints through out. Overall it was an easy build and im really happy with the finshed product. Enjoy, Tom
