Voila! A real mission, the work in progress thread is on here too for those who are interested, (sorry haven’t figured out how to insert the link yet) it was a real battle to get the stickers on (they didn’t stick), I was saved in the end by a Furball “Sea blue f9f-8 Cougars” sheet, and airbrushed the rest! The little starter jeep was mostly scratchbuilt, grafted onto a Tamiya Willy’s, can’t help thinking some nice 3D printed figures would set the dio off nicely!! thanks for looking!

Hi, I have the following question: Does the F-86D have a differnt wing sweep than the F-86F? I have the Academy F-86F30 kit and like to use it as a conversion to an early RAF sabre (XB603 a Canadair Sabre F.4 in NMF with dayglow). The RAF Sabre I like to build has the automatic slats. My plan was to use the wings from the Revell F-86D Sabre Dog but when I compare the parts the wing sweep is quite different between the Academy and the Revell wing: The wheelbay position is quite different too. When I place the Academy wings on the XB603 Canadair Sabre F.4 drawing from Peter Scott in Model Aircraft Monthly (Vol. 7; Issue 8 2008) they fit quite nicely. I tried to find something using Google but did not get any answer. Anyone here has an idea if the Sabre Dog had a different wing sweep than the Sabre? Thanks, Rene
