When the B-17 STGB Part 2 will be history, it'll be time to tackle this. It'll be my first Thunderbolt in 40+ years and the first bubbletop ever - the previous was a Matchbox razorback. This kit came as part of this very nice Revell gift set. The P-51B got built in the Southern Europe GB with Academy decals from a kit I plan to build next year with these Revell (Cartograph) decals, either in the P-51 STGB or the D-Day anniversary GB. The Fortress is of course a WIP in the current STGB. The instructions can be found here and a review of the whole set in here, at our favorite modelling forum 🙂 See you later! V-P

I'm having a day off, and got up as early as I'd get up for heading to work, but instead I began building a short wing Ju 88 A-1. It's a fresh kit that I unboxed for the first time today. Trying to learn from my recent mistakes, I have followed strictly the instructions. So far I have assembled and base painted all the cockpit subassemblies. I still dislike the flimsy rudder pedal construction... and this was the seventh time I did it! Pics, but later... V-P

In the first Nordic GB last year I built a Finnish AF Dornier Do 17. Since one of the earliest memories I have of reading any aviation history books is Suomen Ilmavoimien Historia SIH 2 about the Do 17 and the Ju 88 in Finnish AF service, it would be rude not to try build a Junkers Ju 88 in the second Nordic GB. Kit, decals, masks, references... should be fun! I have some Finnish inSCALE 72 decals left to decorate her. The Revell 1:72 Ju 88 kits are very good. I have two Luftwaffe Ju 88:s that stalled in the Africa GB, a D-2 and a C-4, maybe they'll get dragged along and KUTA'ed in the process? The last Ju 88 kit in my stash must be spared in case there'd be a Ju 88 STGB next year V-P

Great, but: The build thread will be in the "They Also Serve GB" as there are three other F-16 AM:s I will try to build along these two. Link here. I hope that's ok? I'll update this post too. V-P

This sorta attacked me from the bushes. These builds stalled 3 years ago in Rich's F-16 STGB, maybe I got overexcited back then... Now I know this is doable during the whole year long They Also Serve GB. And this is a multi-GB-theme build, though it only includes the BM:s most hated aircraft; not only one but five grey F-16 MLU:s! Which themes, then? 1) Nordic; Denmark, Inherent Resolve 2) Small Wars; Norway, Odyssey Dawn 3) 90's NATO; The Netherlands, Allied Force 4) Yanks Abroad; Belgium, Tiger Meet 5) KUTA (yes); Portugal, Baltic Air Policing Edit: 6) Italy, no specific ops I'll describe the specific planes better, later. I try to show the differences (!) in their grey camouflage and change in weaponry in last close to 20 years. Well, not 50 shades, but... Plenty. Old notes from three years back Fuselage halves. Tails etc. All things F-16. Including a pair of Mavericks too. Litenings, Snipers and JDAM:s. Decals and DACO strenghtening plates. Wish me luck! V-P

Why not build a B-17 with own initials, all of us? No can do, you say . Yes I can! Plans for my build have been discussed here in the WW2 Aircraft- section: Yes, she´s a 100+ mission survivor (until being scrapped) and a very interesting one to paint! I will travel to London on wednesday and stay there until sunday. I´ll pick the decals and masks I´ll need for her from Hannants, when I visit the RAF Museum nearby, so nothing to show you here yet, except the modified Revell "combat box": I was given this kit as a birthday present a year ago. It´s been a long wait... Best regards, V-P
