Hi everyone Well, after finishing the BR-52, I decided I needed to take a break from things on rails - despite actually making a start on the K5. I got half way through making the first truck and then sighed and told myself that's enough rail stuff for the moment So, I had a look through my enormous stash (LMAO - not really - it's pretty small when compared with so many others) and selected this - the Revell 1/72 BV-222. However, I am bored doing military things, so I have decided to make this into a civilian version in a what-if livery yet to be decided upon. I'm thinking either TEAL, Qantas or Air France - or maybe an Argentinian version. Not sure yet. I am also motorizing it - something I haven't done since I was a teenager. I'll also add cabin and wing tip lighting and the intention of making it in-flight So, to start with - the engines and motorization. I elected to go with telescoping brass tube for strength and rigidity. One of the smallest ones I could find fit perfectly on the end of the motor, so the was the logical choice. The one the it fits into was also a perfect match for the diameter of the props - so a great start! Then - as an added bonus - the motors fit nicely inside the engine cowlings with minimal fuss to get them installed - bingo! For the interior colour, I have tried to make it seem opulent, so a wine red coat was applied and it seems to go nicely. It was a close match to the colours used in Gentleman's clubs of that era. Once I have everything sorted, I'll add some extra bulk heads and for a first for me - I have cast copies of the kit supplied upstairs chairs. They seem good and look pretty comfy, but there are only 3 in the kit, so I have tried to make my own resin copies to use in the main cabin. Besides, once it's closed up, you won't see jack inside any way, so I won't go to crazy. the warm white SMD's will work nicely with the main cabin colours - or at least I think they will Enough blabbing, time for the pics - which there aren't that many yet - sorry I also need to do some major alterations to the body and wings - sanding and cutting off all things military which include the wing and body mounted gun housings. This should be fun...... Anyway, thanks for looking MH
