  1. Thank you to those that crawled along with me over the many long months over on the WIP pages while this big beastie went together. She's done at last - perhaps I might add some dusty effects later on in the year but I have already wiped the worktops down in my workshop and moved on to other things. The diorama has already been to a few UK shows (IPMS Shropshire and IPMS Poole's shows) which got the kids asking lots of questions, and one member of the public innocently asked me if it was a WWI or WWII artillery piece last weekend ! There's only one word in reply to that.... "OOTINI..!"
  2. Out of the frying pan, into the fire. With Randy's resin Star Destroyer completed, I've got to work on his 1/96 scale Jawa Sand Crawler. Its a bit twisted and warped, and there is a lot of flash as excess resin to trim off before assembly starts, but it looks to be like a really good kit and with much fun ahead for me - its a shame the UK weather is not so forgiving now as I would have preferred to have undertaken all the sanding and band-saw work outside if possible to reduce the dust factor. What an iconic vehicle this is.. One word springs to mind..... OOODEENIE !
  3. News for Star Wars fans and those who like Star Destroyers. Good news from the new workshop of Randy Cooper Models was announced late last month. Randy has completed his revised and re-tooled Avenger class Imperial Star Destroyer 1/1500 resin model. Randy has been taking back orders for around 6 months and has started to put the waiting list into production now that he has moved home and has his new workshop set-up. For the UK buyer, you will be looking at paying around £700 for the model once shipping has been included for export from the US. HMRC will still need to ha
  4. Oh yeah, I've really got my hands full now for the rest of 2017, and the Mrs hasn't yet worked out the price tag, or how much space these 2 bad-bottom boys will be taking up when built... 2 of a kind, yet miles apart in quality. Anigrand is a lot more of a build friendly kit and a lot smaller, but the Randy Cooper variant is in a league of its own - exceptional and massive. Anigrand provide a tiny resin and PE Lambda Imperial shuttle (Tydirium) while Randy provides a Blockade Runner. Possible fibre optic challenge here. Lets get the workbench cleared off....
  5. This kit is a monster - both in sheer size and by measure of the amount of work that will be needed to complete it. Ordered from Randy Cooper in the US in the Spring, this must be one, if not the last of his old Devastator mouldings. A nice challenge ahead - when was a short run resin kit ever meant to be a simple lick and stick job. If I'm honest with myself, I'm quite looking forward to the amount of work needed here. The Hangar parts are not really usable due to shape distortion so I have commissioned a 3D build which will be an upscaled hanger produced for the Zvezda 1/2700 ISD - the propo
  6. Many thanks to all those who came over to the IPMS Farnborough table at Telford over the weekend and for the kind words expressed about our display - here's my completed Randy Cooper resin (and tons of plasti-strip and plasti-card add-on greeblies) Imperial Star Destroyer. I based it on the original Devastator from ANH but the display has a touch of all 3 of the original films: The captured rebel blockade runner in the main hangar, the Falcon hitching a lift behind the tower and an Imperial Lambda Shuttle casually cruising ahead of the bridge - celebrating 40 years of Star Wars thi
