Hi All I'd like to present my first armor model. This particular model was a gift for a colleague originally from Poland. Initially, I contemplated creating a model of the PZL P.11 or a Polish destroyer. However, a fellow modeler from my local IPMS branch suggested this one. It's smaller, especially compared to the P.11, and holds a fascinating story. The kit was adequate, and I opted for rubber tracks as I lacked the patience to glue and position all those links on plastic ones. As for larger models, like tanks or SPAs, I'm uncertain if I'm prepared yet. However, I'm certainly intrigued by wheeled vehicles. The thought of dealing with all those tracks and wheels on a tank might be a bit overwhelming for me.

This is a neat little car. Basically the Adler Standard 6 built from 1933-35, weaponized and armoured for light reconnaissance, etc... I was thinking of saving this for the Recon GB but I have been wanting to build it for a while and this is as good chance as any. The box art... Sprue... And the profile. I'll use the option with the white cross, but with the grill cross on the box art. Construction begins tomorrow...or late tonight maybe! --John

The Renault FT-17 was a successful and innovative French tank of the WWI. It had a pioneering design in that the armament for the first time was housed in a fully rotating turret, These tanks were produced in great numbers at the end of the Great War and during the 1920's. Some 3.000 FT-17's were manufactured by French industry and the tank was also license built in many other countries. The Finnish army ordered the first FT-17's in 1919 and in total they operated 32 tanks (14 of the "male-type" with guns and 18 of the "female-type" with a machine guns in the turret). My 1/35 scale model depicts an unknown female-type French FT-17 of the Western Front. I built the tank 15 years ago from a Polish RPM kit. Its quality was awful. The fit of the parts poor and the plastic very brittle and the icing on the cake were the unclear instructions. Well, since at that time there were no other alternatives around and as I anyway wanted to model that tank type I was ready for the battle. Finally I made it but nearly threw in the towel a couple of times. From the aftermarket I also bought Eduard photoetches and Friulmodel tracks to enhance the beast. Luckily enough there are nowadays newer kits of the FT-17 with better quality on the market .

Hey folks, herewith attached below, some photos of the finished article. A mostly fun build (which you can follow here should you wish). Thanks to all who commented and advised on the WIP, your inputs were very much appreciated.

Hi all, not sure if you can count this as an 'armour' WIP thread, but to be honest I can't see where else to put it - if anyone can point me at an alternative location, please let me know! Well it's been some time since I've done any kind of WIP in this particular corner of La La Land, having been infesting the wingy-things bit for a fair while now. The small size of this beastie will hopefully mean that there won't be a huge amount of build time required, however my intention is that it will eventually be the centre-piece of a small diorama. There may well be a separate thread in the dioramas bit for that, when I get round to it. So, enough yapping - let's get a stake in the ground and share the hand I have been dealt, starting with the boxart: Hmm, ok... what about the sprues? Well, they are not big, being consistent with 1:72 scale. The chassis: Not too shabby. The wheel spokes look a little on the thick side but I am not about to scratch build anything better - my scanning electron microscope is at the mender's. So what about the bodywork: Eeeew, Flash Central! Still, that should all scrub up pretty well once I get going on it. Finally, from the kit anyways - the decals: A choice of US or French markings, it would seem. No British although the red crosses in the red circles might be an option there. Absolutely finally for now, my proposed diorama base, courtesy of Messrs IKEA - a 6x4 photo frame: That's all for now folks, hopefully I will make a start on this soon, at any rate before I finish my current wingy thing.

I was just browsing eBay and found this 1/35 Lorraine 37L by RPM. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ARMOURED-CARRIER-Tracteur-blinde-Lorraine-37L-RPM-35052-SCALE-1-35-/112216032938?epid=1486184394&hash=item1a2098c6aa:g:kxEAAOSwal5YMfWS Are these kits any good? It's quite difficult to find any information or pictures of builds of completed kits. I like the idea of building something a bit different and £12.25 isn't going to break the bank but then again I don't want to waste money on complete garbage. Thanks!
